mynameisjonas (206), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA Nov 28, 2006 wow. this beer has great aroma and taste. it is a very thick beer. it kind of reminded me of the bells 7000 in thickness SledgeJr (2957), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Nov 26, 2006 In the bomber bottle at the Max & Joe’s Tavern Michigan Beer tasting (11/21/6). A very dark, dark brown. No head at all. Has the aroma of horhound candy, vanilla and coffee. Dum Dum candy flavors. Tastes very stout-like. Rich caramel and chocolate. Thick and delicious. The finish is roasted coffee. Has a mild hint of bourbon. The alcohol is well hidden in this beer by the strong sweetness. Yum. gws57 (1131), Saint Charles, Illinois, USA Nov 22, 2006 Had this one bottled from the Binny’s Oktoberfest beertasting in St. Charles, Illinois. Very prounounced maltiness and alcoholic nose. Balanced, with a very generous amount of bourbon throughout. Nice finish. Good. shigadeyo (2210), Harrison, Ohio, USA Nov 21, 2006 New Holland Dragon’s Milk pours an opaque dark brown color. It looks nearly black in the glass with a tan head. It has a roasted malt aroma with a hint of charred wood. The flavor is rich malt and cocoa with some vanilla and bourbon sneaking around in there as well. The finish is smooth and creamy and the alcohol content is nearly invisible! Toward the end there is a nice bitterness that transitions to a dry coffee-like flavor. Very nice. This beer has a medium to full body and is mildly carbonated. The barrel aging is noticeable without overpowering the other flavors in this brew. There is definitely a level of complexity in this beer that makes it interesting and worth trying...

Nose is oak, some vanilla, bourbon and sweet malts. Taste is more oak and bourbon with some vanilla, creamy, sweet malts, faded caramel, and hints of cocoa. Body is medium with mild carbonation. Finishes with more wood, bourbon, hints of vanilla, and creamy malts. stoutchap (297), Chicago, Illinois, USA Oct 28, 2006 Ok. Dark pur, nice head. A little smokiness and oak, some malts. Not exactly what I expected. A little watery. But not bad. Would try again, but expected something bolder with a name like this.
milewide (609), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA Oct 27, 2006 Updated: Dec 19, 2006I haven’t drank bourbon for 30 years---but I immediately picked up the sour burbon smell and flavor. Add a black/red color and some nice roasted malt flavors and you have a winner!
