New Holland Dragons Milk

Poured from a bomber. Thick dark brown and cloudy. A thin ring of head remains.. Intense aromas of caramel, molasses, vanilla, bourbon, coffee. Very smooth flavor and the alcohol seems to be well hidden. I will let this warm up to see if the flavor intensifies. Not quite as complex as an imperial stout, but still a good sipper.

Poured a dark brown color with a tanish color head left okay lacing. Aroma was of coffee, vanilla some oak. Tasted much the same with some roastedness. Had a nice warming ness to it

Well I have to go against the grain with this review. I tried this initially as part of our weekly tastings, and decided to give it another chance. Second time around my mind is changed. The color is dark and powerful looking, with great off-brown lacing. The nose is that of very strong chocolate, vanilla, and some alcohol. The flavor is very smooth, with a nice chocolate vanilla balance to the alcohol and bourbon sharpness. The finish is fairly long lasting and exhibits a little hop character. All in all a good beer that definately improves as it warms, but I like to drink from 50 degrees down.

Like some beer with your bourbon? This is for you. Powerful bourbon aroma. Light brown color and lightly carbonated. A little sweet flavor, very heavy and thick with more bourbon in the flavor. Simple and one dimensional, and the alcohol flavor makes it a little hard to drink.

Holy Moley. This was a disappointment. I got suckered in by the name. I like New Holland, but sometimes, they just suck. Here is one example. Stick to the hops, guys.

Poured a dark deep brown-black color with a nice tan-chocolate head. Lacing was decent. Aroma was chocolate, coffee, and roasted caramel with something just "off" or not right about this one. The flavor was chocolate, coffee, molasses, caramel, and cardboard. The combination of flavors in this thing was quite odd for a stout and not that pleasant, including an overall sweetness that was cloying. Mouthfeel was average for the style. I think the bottle said something about oak (aged?), but none of that was detected by me.

Bomber poured an opaque blak with a small disapating brown head. Aromas of roasted malt, coffee, vanilla, oak and a hint of bourbon. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of oak, vanilla, a bit of bourbon, hint of carmel, roasted malt and brown sugar with a lingering sweet finish.

bottle. Pours an extremely dark plum with a tan head. Swirling the snifter leaves a film which takes several minutes to recede. The aroma is very vinous. It’s strong of raisins, cinnamon, a bit of oak, predominantely a semi-sweet wine aroma. This is very interesting. It has a remarkable likeness to red wine but mixed with some more beery notes like chocolate and fresh barley. The finish is semi dry. I personally haven’t tasted anything like this before. I could certainly imagine drinking this winter warmer in colder weather than the intense 90+ degrees TN summer.
