KieferUGA (351), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Jun 24, 2008 22 oz. bottle. Dark brown color. Thin, light tan head. Fades very quickly. Aroma of vanilla, bourbon, coffee. Thin body, but not lacking for flavor. Nice balance of vanilla, dark fruits, some coffee cake. Smooth, creamy finish with tons of boozy alcohol. Nice beer, very easy to drink.
tzakiel (34), USA Sep 29, 2008 A triumph. A masterpiece of oaky stout. Wonderfully smooth and creamy stout. Perhaps a bit thin tasting, like an english style, just a masterpiece. KnN (306), Greenbelt, Maryland, USA Sep 28, 2008 Poured a nice deep ruby color with a fairly thin off-white head. Aroma was alcohol and caramel, with some malt undertones. Flavor was surprisingly mild. This was a very easy drinker, but the flavor profile was a bit limited. Ungstrup (11353), Frederiksberg, Denmark Sep 28, 2008 Bottled. A deep red beer with a slight haze under a beige head. The aroma is sweet with notes of alcohol, over ripe fruit, and caramel, and so is the flavor. greenhorn1 (380), Eugene, Oregon, USA Sep 27, 2008 22 oz bottle. Aroma is sweet, with hints of chocolate. Pours almost black with a very thin brown head. Flavor is fairly complex, chocolate, roasted malts, vanilla, and subtle undertones of oak. Alcohol is noticeable in the finish, but not in a negative way. There was also a slight metallic taste in the finish that made the experience a bit dissapointing. nqualls (420), Tennessee, USA Sep 25, 2008 Bottle. Poured a dark mahogany with a sparse beige head that quickly disappeared. Aroma of oak vanilla and chocolate. Flavor was chocolate, sweet malt and oak. Body was too weak for this beer, but otherwise it is a masterpiece.
