Aroma is sweet chocolate, englishy malt, and raisins. Taste is very chocolate milky, with smooth malt, bourbon, oak and vanilla. Reminds me of Weyerbacher Insanity with more chocolate and less bourbon. $10/22oz

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 31, 2009 12oz bottle from Orland Park Binny’s. Pours dark reddish brown with tan head. Aromas of oak, roasted malt, vanilla, and chocolate. Flavors of booze, oak, vanilla, chocolate, and roasted malts. Not a big enough stout to hold up to the barrel as oak and booze dominate the flavor of the beer. First RIS stout that I could see through is a while. Expected more. darn1207 (668), Tallahassee, Florida, USA

The first of several brews my wonderful wife got me for Christmas from beergeek.biz - dark blackish pour with a thin beige head that leaves a ring. Minimal lacing. Woody caramel malt aroma with hints of vanilla, smoke and alcohol. The taste is the same: sweet vanilla, wood, caramel, smoke with an alcohol finish. Slick medium texture. Definitely a sipper. Dark brown color, small beige head. Strong vanilla, some chocolate and licorice. Sweet milk chocolate, oak, licorice, lots of vanilla. Active carbonation. Balanced, feels less alcoholic than 8.5%. Toxygen (402), Sanford, Florida, USA

occasional hints of chclt-malt sneak out, but this is the oakyest beer i’ve had at 450 ratings, a bit overdone IMO. mjz (5), USA does not count | 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Dec 22, 2009 Very tasty brew with a definite taste of vanilla. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 15, 2009 Bottle. Pours a deep dark black with a thin soapy beige head. Light wood and vanilla, smoke, bitter cocoa, roast, and a bit of sweet malt. Medium to thick bodied, smooth and silky, chocolate and a little booze. Tastes a bit like a bourbon and chocolate milkshake. Light bourbon on the finish, touch of alcohol, vanilla and roast. This was quite tasty.
