Commercial Description:
Dragon’s Milk is a 17th century term used to describe the strong beer usually reserved for royalty. This strong ale was aged in oak for over 120 days. The aging process extracts flavors from the wood, which contribute to its complex character. Hints of bourbon flavor perfectly compliment its roasted malts to produce a beer fit for a King.

Thanks to Sprinkle for sending this enjoyable brew! This dark garnet colored brew forms an average sized light tan head. This really opens up nicely as it warms, molasses, coffee, and a sweet smokiness all join in to form the complex aroma. Molasses in the flavor along with dried fruits and the characteristics of the barrel aging. Good big beer which hides it’s alcohol well.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a medium sized brown head. The aroma was malty, toasty and had a bit of vanilla. The flavor was sour, malty and toasty with a long toasty vanilla finish. The body was moderately thick and creamy.

Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a medium sized creamy tan head that faded quickly. The aroma was sweet and bitter with light roasty malts and a moderate note of vanilla. The flavor was strong vanilla, roasty malts, bitter, tangy and vaguely fruity. Complex but a bit odd. The finish was roasty vanilla. The body was moderately creamy. Interesting.

On tap at Oregon Brewers Festival 2008--Dark chestnut brown body w/ a rich bubbly tan head. Woody, malty, bourbon, caramel, and vanilla notes. Hoppy. Subtle yet bold. Great!

Muddy swampy brown...letting in just a tad of light..whiskey sweet aroma with touches of chemicals, chocolate, cream, green raisins, alcohol, angel food cake drenched in liquor, hazelnuts, and green olives...really really acidic lactose twang..with tons of vinous, sour, acidic, and strange chocolate olive complexities...sour grapes..chewy like cardboard in the finish..very interesting!

22oz bottle. Pours deep brown with a small fizzy beige head, 0 lacing. Nose was big on chocolate, oak, dark fruits and maybe a bit of smoke. Flavor held a bit of booze, oak, and chocolate. A was not overly impressed with this brew after all the hype.

22 oz. bottle via trade with kokostephi - Pours a brown color with a two finger light tan head. Lots of lacing. Aroma is woody (oak) and chocolate. Flavor is much of the same. Very nice. A subtle, smooth, medium to full body beer. This beer was a very pleasant suprise. Thanks Stephi.

Thin dark pour with good sized head lots of lacing. Aroma was chocolate, vanilla, and malt. Flavor I thought was best described as a dry watered down chocolate milk. And the mouthfeel reminded me of that as well, thin with a nice finish.

Pours a dark black color with very light beige short lived head. Smell is very nice with roastiness, bourbon, and some light oakiness too. Taste is smooth, lightly roasty and very chocolately, and a touch dry and oaky. Decent mouthfeel, but could be a tad richer. Pretty good overall, but the flavor didn’t quite live up to the smell.
