| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 18, 2005 Deep chocolate brown, thin creamy light tan head. Interesting and somewhat complex nose of oak, dried fig and prune, caramelized brown sugar, and light chocolate, with lesser notes of vanilla and bourbon brought into the mix upon warming. Flavor was unexpected based on the initial aromas with a tangy light soured roasty woodiness jumping to the forefront. Definite notes of dried citrus peel and cherry are mixed in for a wacky flavor profile which really grew on me. Full bodied, light carbonation, tangy, dry, semi-bitter finish. Nice change-up thrown here...
