Commercial Description:
Dragon’s Milk is a 17th century term used to describe the strong beer usually reserved for royalty. This strong ale was aged in oak for over 120 days. The aging process extracts flavors from the wood, which contribute to its complex character. Hints of bourbon flavor perfectly compliment its roasted malts to produce a beer fit for a King.

Poured a dark chestnut brown, with a reddish tint, and a tan ring of carbonation lacing the sides of the glass. Aroma was rather porter-like, with roasted malts predominating. Flavor was similar to the aroma, with roasted malts at the beginning of the sip, followed by strong wood flavors and tanginess. Finishes creamy, with a touch of dry fruit. Very smooth.

Draft at the Durham World Beer Festival. Mahogany with a small white head. Huge malty nose to match the huge malty flavor. Oaky notes throughout, light bourbon, some vanilla.

This black ale poured with a decent caramel head and a malty aroma. There is a very creamy chocolate malt flavor with a chalky finish. Quite delicious.

Deep brown with burgundy highlights topped by a thinnish film and a thickish ring. Aromas are leafy and warm with bourbon, light chocolate, green wood and maple syrup. Heady flavor with light spices in the finish... dirty sweet with alot of ABV. Very smooth (with the exception of sinus-burning alcocol), medium-bodied texture with lightly syrupy leanings.

(Oak barrel aged) Deep dark brown/black with just the barest ruby hints sparkling through. The head is a rocky tan affair that collapses down into a thin sheet that creates beautiful lace. The aroma is smoky with lots of earthy aromatic blueberry. A very unique aroma. The flavor is also very fruity maybe even some vegetable flavors. I am having a hrad time describing the flavor as I have never tasted a beer quite like this one. The body is medium but has a watery mouth-feel. The alcohol is well-masked. (Update - reading through the reviews I read ecrvich's review and he nails it - corn on the cob!)

Swiped from WBF. Pours a dark brown with some ruby notes. The head is pretty nonexistent, thin light tan. The aroma is sweet, shows some caramel, bourbon, and smoky notes. The flavor is very rich, shows alcohol, caramel, bourbon, smoke. The palate is of a pretty average consistency, dry, and has low carbonation. Overall a fairly rich and enjoyable brew.

650 ml that says 8.5% abv (not 9). Nearly opaque chocolate with a quarter-inch head that fades to a lasting spit of a halo. Aroma of figs, caramel, and chocolate bread pudding. Complex flavors of earthy caramel, chocolate, smoke, vanilla, charred wood, raisins, oak, whiskey, a hint of bitter and metallic herb, slight acidic sourness and portwine. Medium-heavy body is smooth, dry, slightly tingly, and just watery enough to be dangerously drinkable.

22oz bomber, no date. Overcarbonation pisses me off. I managed to get about 6 ounces into my Duvel glass before it almost overflowed. Aroma of sour funk, bourbon, oak, vanilla. 10 minutes later, I think I may be able to attempt a drink at this. Very carbonated, sour cherries up front, the bourbon is there, but takes a back seat. oak also evident, dry finish. Alcohol is noticeable. Very sour. An OK beer.
