Commercial Description:
Dragon’s Milk is a 17th century term used to describe the strong beer usually reserved for royalty. This strong ale was aged in oak for over 120 days. The aging process extracts flavors from the wood, which contribute to its complex character. Hints of bourbon flavor perfectly compliment its roasted malts to produce a beer fit for a King.

Frothy, foamy cramy head over a dark, coffee-colored body. Very mealty and somewhat sour aroma. Alcohol is well-hidden. Sour mash present with hints of cocoa and a gentle herbalness. Did they use lagering yeast for this? Both chocolate and herbs/grassiness in the flavor as well.

Bottle. Pours dark brown, with a tan head. Aroma is vanilla, caramel, chocolate, bourbon, and dark fruit. Flavor is bourbon, vanilla, dark fruit, end dry. A bit more sweetness and body would make this killer.

22oz bottle from Binny’s on Clark, Chicago. Dark brown with small beige head. Aroma is chocolate, some coffee, slight vanilla, nutty, some vanilla and other barrel scents as well. Flavor is a lot of red fruit, nutty, chocolate, a good amount of bourbon, coffee, not bad. Medium to thin body and well carbonated. Okay but something about this is a little off.

Although im not a big fan of anything that is aged in bourbon barrels, this was delightful. Not too much bourbon taste, just enough to add to the other great flavors of this beer.

Beer pours burgendy color wit a modestly retained beige colored ead. Aroma is mainly ligt bourbon notes wit a bit of oak. Also smells sweet and malty. Flavor is dominated by te oak and also te very well integrated bourbon flavor wic is exquisitely done. Very restained. In fact tis beer sares te barrel aging caracteristics wit one of my personal favorites, Oerbier Reserva. Quite nice.

Bottle. Aroma of mostly chocolate and some roasted malt (maybe also a little oak). This beer has the flavors of a stout or porter, but the mouthfeel of an ale. It reminds me of the time I sucked on a dragon’s teet. Pretty good flavor, roasted chocolate and oaky aftertaste.

From 22oz Bottle. Pours a dark brown opaque color with a creamy layer of toasted tan head. Gentle aromas of coffee and freshly baked walnut brownies slowly drift to my nostrils. A hint of anise and a whiff of black cherry fruits round out the bouquet. Medium bodied mouthfeel with a somewhat creamy texture thats a sharp contrast to the tart toasted malts that greet the tongue. Expecting a malty chocolate flavor after appreciating the aroma, I am a bit taken aback by the tart oaky currant flavor waves that wash over my tongue. A few sips later and my senses settle, allowing my enjoyment to resume. The beer’s sour cherry flavors eventually give way to an oaky chocolate malt character that I expected from the aroma. Final smack of molasses dipped cranberries. Interesting brew overall - well crafted and makes me think, so kudos for that. Thanks, Tom!

Thanks jtw. Pours a deep black with a slight red hue. Roasted malt and chocolate flavors. Fruity aroma of plum and slight leather. Some brandy like smells as well. Slight hop bitterness on the finish. Pretty good. Could have a little more malt complexity. I didn’t realize this was oak aged. Those flavors come through but do not overpower the experience.
