Commercial Description:
Dragon’s Milk is a 17th century term used to describe the strong beer usually reserved for royalty. This strong ale was aged in oak for over 120 days. The aging process extracts flavors from the wood, which contribute to its complex character. Hints of bourbon flavor perfectly compliment its roasted malts to produce a beer fit for a King.

Black pour with a tiny tan head. Roasted malt nose with maybe a hint of toffee. Dark and malty flavor, subtle chocolate and whiskey notes. Not bad, but a bit thin.

On tap at Sheffield’s in Chicago. Dark brown with small head. Lots of vanilla and bourbon, but not overpowering at all. Loved it.

Not much aroma, but does have some tangy sweet scents. Black with a thin brown head. Medium palate lies under lots of tangy malt flavors, with some vanilla and oak tastes in the background.

Sampled at the Bockyhorsey tasting, courtesy of rustychiles. Dark brown pour with a foamy beige head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted grain and malt, and a hint of bourbon. Flavor is malty caramel and chocolate, along with a hint of vanilla and bourbon. Very nice!

A stronger porter with more chocolate notes. I could not detect any oak in this as was stated on the label. Good body and mouthfeel. Fairly one dimensional but still quite drinkable, even at 10%.

Had this one bottled from the Binny’s Oktoberfest beertasting in St. Charles, Illinois. Very prounounced maltiness and alcoholic nose. Balanced, with a very generous amount of bourbon throughout. Nice finish. Good.
