Commercial Description:
Dragon’s Milk is a 17th century term used to describe the strong beer usually reserved for royalty. This strong ale was aged in oak for over 120 days. The aging process extracts flavors from the wood, which contribute to its complex character. Hints of bourbon flavor perfectly compliment its roasted malts to produce a beer fit for a King.

Black with fair, creamy tan head / Nose of roast malts, cocoa, & oak / Full body, chewy, with fine carbonation and good hop balance on the finish / Flavors of chocolate, toffee, vanilla, oak, and coconut / Very nice job by NH.

Pours a dark black/ruby from the bottle with a trim white head. Tons of bourbon in the aroma. Syruppy sweet with a faint taste of vanilla. Luxuriously rich to the point that one bottle yields a mild stomach ache as well as intoxication. Be a friend to yourself and share this.

Pours a very dark chestnut brown with mahogany edges when held to a light source and a 1.5 finger foamy tan head. Decent retention, slowly fading into a lasting ring that leaves spots of lacing behind. Chocolate malt aroma with subtle bourbon, earthy oak and vanilla. Lighter bodied tha I expected but not thin. Silky chocolate maltiness with hints of caramel and toffee. Not roasty at all. Surprising dark fruit notes including cherry, plum and raisin which provide a nice balance to the heavy malt presence. Subtle bourbon presence that isn’t overpowering, letting the other flavors shine through. Earthy oakiness with a nice touch of vanilla which adds to the smoothness of the beer. This in combination with the well masked ABV make this beer pretty quaffable. Slightly dry finish.

shared bomber. pours a dark brown with a touch of tan head. nice aromas... caramel, molasses, bourbon and malts. medium body over the palate with the vanilla and oak shining through on the finish. a bit of alcohol as well and thinned out as it goes down. overall a very nice and enjoyable beer, but not something I would actively seek out again.

Very dark brown beer with reddish glow on the edges. Nice bubbly yellow-beige head falling down quick. The aroma is very mild with hints of coffee (mocca), milk chocolate, babba au rhum, burnd sultanas on the crust of raisinbread, cedar wood and caramel. The taste is also very smooth, it has a mild mouthfeel that reminds me of a mix of coffee, doubble cream and sweet brown rhum. It has also a slight fruity touch of dates (dried ones) and raisins. The bitter accents are more burned ones than hoppy ones. The finale is one of caramelzed sugars, burned malts, some grapesugar and a little bit of herby hops. The alc is well hidden and this 9% beer is very drinkable indeed. Thanks joris for sharing this one.

Poured a nice deep ruby color with a fairly thin off-white head. Aroma was alcohol and caramel, with some malt undertones. Flavor was surprisingly mild. This was a very easy drinker, but the flavor profile was a bit limited.
