Commercial Description:
Dragon’s Milk is a 17th century term used to describe the strong beer usually reserved for royalty. This strong ale was aged in oak for over 120 days. The aging process extracts flavors from the wood, which contribute to its complex character. Hints of bourbon flavor perfectly compliment its roasted malts to produce a beer fit for a King.

Picked up at Green’s in Greenville, South Carolina, as it is not available in Georgia, Dragon’s Milk poured out dark brown, and formed a khaki colored head. The smell was a nice mixture of herbal hops and sweet chocolate and toffee. The taste was an extension of the smell with sweet malts being showcased with a backing of hops. The beer was carbonated nicely, and gave a creamy textured feel in the mouth. The finish was quite sweet and would have benefited a bit from more alcoholic strength. Very easy to drink, and quite flavorful, I definately see myself picking up more of this when it becomes more readily available.

22oz bottle (listed as 9% abv) - Very dark ruby red color with big tan head. Aroma is creamy, chocolately, with a hint of vanilla and cherry, molasses and smoke. Flavor is malty, nutty, creamy, hint of oak and smoke. Finish is slightly sweet.

Very dark chestnut, slight fizzy head, sporadic lacing. Tons of vanilla, pecan pie, caramel in the nose and flavour -- almost too much, making it not very balanced. Milky and thin, akin to chocolate Yoo Hoo. Slightly sourish aftertaste. Great tasting if over-the-top.

On tap at MBG Summer Festival. Poured black with a light brown head. Aroma consisted of sweet malty notes as well as an alcoholic undertone, perhaps bourbon. Flavor began quite dry but sweet and oak flavors take over. Good but not great.

Pours very dark brown, leaning more towards a blackness in color. Almost no head and very little carbonation from the 1 pint 6 oz bottle. Aroma consisted of a good chocolate and roasted malt character with a bit of a root beer and a nuttiness undertone. Flavor had a very strong bourbon, vanilla and alcohol character, along with milder notes of chocolate and great roasted flavors. The bourbon flavor was a bit overpowering for my taste.

Bomber bottle, pours a dark brown and ruby, gave an initial tan and off-white small head that recedes to a ring, there was a good amount of effervescence but it is hard to see unless you hold the glass up to a light, left some sticky bubbled lacing on the glass to, there are aromas of dark brown sugar, vanilla, caramel, dark caramel candy and burnt caramel sweetness in the background, also, there are faint berry or dark fruit aromas in the background, flavors of dark brown sugar and some burnt brown sugar, touch of coffee, chocolate, some roasted malt flavor, a touch of alcohol on the tongue and faint licorice in the background, has a medium bitterness or so at the finish, mouth feel is medium or a bit more with a touch of syrupiness feel in the tongue, there are lots of floaties in this brew even though I find no sediment in the bottle, I used to enjoy this drink more a few years ago but it appears that my palate is changing (or the recipe for this drink has changed) and this has diminished my liking for this drink, anyway, I think this drink makes a good Winter Warmer to sip on.

Pours a deep dark brown with a beige head. The aroma is strong in a lactose milk scent but with accents of oak and roasted grain. A very smooth mouthfeel, almost like coming straight from a dragon’s nipple. A roasted and sweet creamy flavor accompanied by chocolate. Oak flavor really comes out as the beer warms.

I thought this would be good, but it wasn't really. It may have been 10.5%, but it smelled and tasted of Captain Morgan's rum, which is a fairly shitty rum. As Silphilium points out, this was not a complex brew.
