Commercial Description:
Dragon’s Milk is a 17th century term used to describe the strong beer usually reserved for royalty. This strong ale was aged in oak for over 120 days. The aging process extracts flavors from the wood, which contribute to its complex character. Hints of bourbon flavor perfectly compliment its roasted malts to produce a beer fit for a King.

Dark black and silky, with little head. Strong licorice-based aroma, but the first sip is fairly restrained ... moderate strength, hint of smoke, licorice, dark fruit. (#3482, 11/2008)

Bottle at ØLbaren. Brown (almost black) - white edges. licorice, burned, coffee, light rubber, light wood and oak, sweetness, dried berries, chokolate. Wierd finish. A bit simpel - but very nice.

Poured a very dark brown color with a light tan head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of java, smoke, and vanilla oak. Taste of soured dry fruits, lightly tart, chocolate and roast. Wow, I just assumed this was some sort of stout, thanks Steve!

Original Rating, March 25, 2006: Black color with a towering head. A fairly sour aroma coupled with spices. Similar taste but with a large body of malt. Semi-Earthy on the finish, which may be from the oak. 7/3/7/3/14 Re-rating, August 20, 2008: Black color with a very thin head. Big oak and vanilla aroma. Chocolate, vanilla and bourbony flavor. Chalky mouthfeel. Some dark cherry. A lot better than what I remembered.

2003 bottle. Well at least TAR and Psychprof tasted artificial sweetener. That’s one more thing than I tasted. PS. Drainpour. 6/3/3/2/8

This was under 6 months old. Better than the last time I had it, but severely underwhelming, with no malt complexity. On the plus side, it wasnt over-the-top or alcoholic. Nothing worth drinking again, IMHO. Still somewhat of a thin texture, rather washed out and loose/watery.

Bomber poured an opaque blak with a small disapating brown head. Aromas of roasted malt, coffee, vanilla, oak and a hint of bourbon. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of oak, vanilla, a bit of bourbon, hint of carmel, roasted malt and brown sugar with a lingering sweet finish.
