Commercial Description:
Dragon’s Milk is a 17th century term used to describe the strong beer usually reserved for royalty. This strong ale was aged in oak for over 120 days. The aging process extracts flavors from the wood, which contribute to its complex character. Hints of bourbon flavor perfectly compliment its roasted malts to produce a beer fit for a King.

From a 22 oz bottle this poured very dark being almost black, with a small off-white head and light lacing. Nose of oak, chocolate and ripe fruit. Rich creamy mouthfeel. Flavor is complex with coffee, chocolate, rope plums, vanilla, and roasted malts. Long and slightly bitter finish. A very tasty and easy drinking dark beer.

Acquired in trade with iwantalambic. Poured a dark brownish color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of oak wood, smoke and coffee. Tastes of vanilla, light bourbon, and chocolate. Alcohol content well hidden. Call me a sucker for barrel aged beers, but I liked this one.

22 oz. bottle via trade with kokostephi - Pours a brown color with a two finger light tan head. Lots of lacing. Aroma is woody (oak) and chocolate. Flavor is much of the same. Very nice. A subtle, smooth, medium to full body beer. This beer was a very pleasant suprise. Thanks Stephi.

Courtesy of Kevster. Thanks, Kevin. Big oak aroma followed by chocolate malt, caramel, cooked brown sugar and hints of vanilla. Very nice. The body is dark brown with a wispy tan head. Fairly toasty/roasty flavor profile with lots of chocolate, vanilla, oak, coconut and caramel. Comes off very strong porterish. Tasty!

Dark Coca-Cola brown with a bit of beige head. Wonderful nose of toffee and chocolate. Lots of toffee. Some dried fruit, nuts, and trail mix aromas going on. The flavor is also a wonderful blend of chocolate cover toffee bits and dates or prunes. Medium body. Silky mouthfeel. Medium carbonation. Balanced finish. This is a really wonderfull beer that should be on you want list.

picked up while in Michigan for the holidays while beer hunting... pours black. i’ll agree w/ the others... looks like cola. nose is slightly acidic... lemons, but with bourbon barrel notes... faint vanilla, but nice balance of oak, chocolate and caramel. Though the listing for this says 10.5% abv.. my bottle states 9%, and has silkscreened label. despite this difference, i think the alcohol presence is noticable.. but well balanced. somewhat like a bourbon and coke... faint alcohol taste, but slightly watered down. it’s nice. this beer is slightly bitter, but the ’darker’ flavors lead me to a resemblance that i could only compare as a ’ light porter’ i’m still picking up citrus notes... perhaps it’s from the charred oak.

On tap at Sheffield’s in Chicago. Dark brown with small head. Lots of vanilla and bourbon, but not overpowering at all. Loved it.

Although im not a big fan of anything that is aged in bourbon barrels, this was delightful. Not too much bourbon taste, just enough to add to the other great flavors of this beer.
