Dark brown with a nice off white/tan head. aroma chocolate caramel vanilla oak bourbon with a hint of alcohol. sweet chocolate bittersweet caramel deep roasted malt flavors with slightly acidic notes. hints of vanilla oak and spicy black pepper. finish is sweet chocolate and vanilla at first but turns into a lovely medium dry spicy roasted caramelized malt......almost tannic flavor that sticks with you for quite some time. nice light smokey hints throughout. complex. nice. by far the best offering from this brewery.

Creamy, creamy, with just a great malted flavor. Some chocolate, some caramel and vanilla. It does have an odd bit of a metallic, maybe even blood flavor. I wonder if that was intentional? Overall, reminds me of eating a caramel sucker when I was a kid, and then with enough bitter and warmth to remind me I am an adult. Butters (1651), Virginia, USA

Great balance of flavor and the 9% ABV is very well hidden.
