Commercial Description:
Dragon’s Milk is a 17th century term used to describe the strong beer usually reserved for royalty. This strong ale was aged in oak for over 120 days. The aging process extracts flavors from the wood, which contribute to its complex character. Hints of bourbon flavor perfectly compliment its roasted malts to produce a beer fit for a King.

A triumph. A masterpiece of oaky stout. Wonderfully smooth and creamy stout. Perhaps a bit thin tasting, like an english style, just a masterpiece.

Very dark black ruby in the light. Clinging tan head. Smells earthy, malty, woody. The taste is quite superb. It could be an oak taste (I don't know what oak tastes like). Very distinct and quite nice. Cannot taste the alcohol. It is creamy and slightly bitter toward the back of the throat but has many floral flavors as well. Superb beer.

Pours real dark with a light brown head. The nose is a mix of malt and Jim Beam. Very interesting once it hits the mouth... A real bubbly sour malt creates a unique taste and makes every drink an experience. I will be getting this again in the future.

Dark milky almost black with a creamy off-white head. Aroma is fruit, oak and earth. The flavour is very complex and full- dark chocolate, hazelnuts, cherries and berries with a hint of alcohol coming through. Mellow, complex and warming, a real treat. Thank you sir, may I please have another!

A very drinkable beer and I shared it with no one. I was not expecting much from this beer and was pleasantly surprised at how smooth the alcohol blended with the coffee tones. The dark color appearance of the beer helped rounded out this well made beer.

650 ml that says 8.5% abv (not 9). Nearly opaque chocolate with a quarter-inch head that fades to a lasting spit of a halo. Aroma of figs, caramel, and chocolate bread pudding. Complex flavors of earthy caramel, chocolate, smoke, vanilla, charred wood, raisins, oak, whiskey, a hint of bitter and metallic herb, slight acidic sourness and portwine. Medium-heavy body is smooth, dry, slightly tingly, and just watery enough to be dangerously drinkable.

2008 bottle; thanks kiefdog for the share. Pours dark cola brown with foamy off-white head. Nose is roast, chocolate, bourbon, vanilla, and oaky excellence. Flavor is decadent: chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, roast, lingering dark sweetness- borderline dark fruit with lingering vanilla. Thoroughly enjoyable medium-bodied stout.

I rank it high because I love it! Perfect weight and smoothness on the tongue. The flavor is ever evolving with maple, coffee, cocoa, molasses, bourbon, vanilla, and musky undertones. It kind of make me want to sit in the woods on a dank November day. I like it served at room temp. Chill down to far and the mouthfeel doesn’t bloom and the flavors hide. I do have to wonder how this will cellar......
