Commercial Description:
Dragon’s Milk is a 17th century term used to describe the strong beer usually reserved for royalty. This strong ale was aged in oak for over 120 days. The aging process extracts flavors from the wood, which contribute to its complex character. Hints of bourbon flavor perfectly compliment its roasted malts to produce a beer fit for a King.

2008 bottle; thanks kiefdog for the share. Pours dark cola brown with foamy off-white head. Nose is roast, chocolate, bourbon, vanilla, and oaky excellence. Flavor is decadent: chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, roast, lingering dark sweetness- borderline dark fruit with lingering vanilla. Thoroughly enjoyable medium-bodied stout.

I rank it high because I love it! Perfect weight and smoothness on the tongue. The flavor is ever evolving with maple, coffee, cocoa, molasses, bourbon, vanilla, and musky undertones. It kind of make me want to sit in the woods on a dank November day. I like it served at room temp. Chill down to far and the mouthfeel doesn’t bloom and the flavors hide. I do have to wonder how this will cellar......

I quite enjoyed this beer. It is paired well with many different foods, but would go perfectly with a nice blackened steak. The beer pours a fine dark brown almost black, with subtle ruby hues. The aroma is that of vanilla and bourbon, with slight toasted brown sugar hints. A slight tan head disappears quickly and leaves way to a wonderfully smooth palate feel. With a small amount of carbonation, and a silky texture this beer is wonderful for sipping. A nice nose of toasted oak and malt comes through at first, leaving a great end of brown sugar and slight bourbon flavors.

2008 bottle courtesy of siebenmorgan. Pours a pitch black with one finger foamy white-tan head. Aroma is sweet and malty with notes of chocolate, vanilla, wood, some notes of bourbon, caramel, nuts, brown sugar, hints of molasses. Flavor is sweet and malty with notes of chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, brown sugar, caramel, some hints of toffee, molasses, spice. Generally medium body with a pleasing vanilla and bourbon finish.

Dynamite--sweet and bitter at once--what a bold, sensuous beer! I am especially fond of the fig, walnut, and bourbon flavors. It is warming, but not hot, and it is not particularly heavy. I had it on draught on a hot day, seated outside, and it was just fine.

[Tap] Dark brown, almost black in color with a faint head. Nearly opaque. Aroma was sweet and caramely with a little woody smoke accent. Taste was sweet with a lot of milky caramel. Also some vanilla (marshmellow?) and smoke with a faint bourbon-esque alcohol kick on finish. Fairly thick, slightly syrupy mouthfeel. One of my favorites.

Pours a dark brown color with a tan head. Aroma is of roasted malts, chocolate, vanilla, and molasses. Flavor is of chocolate, oak, vanilla, roasted malts, and molasses. The oak and the chocolate blend together very nicely. Probably my favorite brew from New Holland.

Dan’s Bachelor Party Extended Weekend Rating #65 of 90. On tap at New Holland in Holland, MI. Pours black with ruby edge. Lost of coffee, toffee, caramel and bourbon. This was my hands down favorite from NH. Very good!
