Commercial Description:
Dragon’s Milk is a 17th century term used to describe the strong beer usually reserved for royalty. This strong ale was aged in oak for over 120 days. The aging process extracts flavors from the wood, which contribute to its complex character. Hints of bourbon flavor perfectly compliment its roasted malts to produce a beer fit for a King.

Dark jet-black color, has a good creamy brown head that leaves a nice lacing in my glass. Sweet roasted chocolate and coffee aromas, sweet fruity woody, smokey chocolate and coffee flavors. Nice milky bitter-sweet finish. Medium-full body with creamy and smooth mouthfeel, alcohol well hidden, very nice.

I tried this beer for the first time last night. I would have to ditto most of the comments on this page. This is a big beer ... it demands small sips. Dark, hazy brown. Hints of bourbon and plums. I am not certain of the alcohol level but I would guess around 10%. Not the best beer for summer, but a great addition to the autumn or fall line up.

Dark brown, with small brown head, aroma is mostly bourbon with some hints of roasted malt. roasted ’irish coffee’ malt like flavor , alcohol is very present but it very drinkable. An interesting beer, probably more for autumn, but I’ll drink this anytime, well done.

Deep dark mahogany brown, like rare and expensive wood. Not much head, but as you swirl it around the snifter it coats the glass and oozes back down. Sweet dark fruits and malts (bing cherry, plum), vanilla, both in aroma and taste. Palate is velvet smooth - not overly thick, perfectly carbonated. Riding along the flavor is a constant oak barrel - not just at the end, I'm talking from beginning of the sip til the long dry finish - you will know the oak! Well hopped, but balanced well with the strong malts. I enjoyed this immensely - thanks to my buddy Jeff who travels to New Holland frequently.

Bottle... This beer rocks! Very dark ale with a small, creamy, khaki head. Minimal lacing. Milk chocolate, oak and red wine aromas. The high ABV is very well-masked by rich, malt flavors with traces of oak and vanilla. Nicely hopped. Full-bodied and astringent with lively carbonation. Lengthy, tangy, dry finish. This beer is world class and a bit underrated IMO.

Dark black color. Small white foamy head. Aroma is chocolate, berries, cola and coffee. Light to medium bodied Strong/Old Ale. A surprisingly intense berry flavor (blackberries and blueberries) is the first thing that you taste in this beer. The malts are chocolate and fruit, with touches of bubble gum and vanilla. Touch of hop spiciness. A very complex flavored beer, you will pick up different aspects with each sip. Very smooth tasting. Very soft and light carbonation. A nice sipping beer. No trace of the 10.5% alcohol. There are only slight hints of any oak barrel aging. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is sweet. Thanks TAR!

An amazing vanillay oaky, flavorful strong ale. This beer is one of the few high alcohol numbers that doesn’t show it alcohol in a negative manner. A very elegant number.
