Commercial Description:
Dragon’s Milk is a 17th century term used to describe the strong beer usually reserved for royalty. This strong ale was aged in oak for over 120 days. The aging process extracts flavors from the wood, which contribute to its complex character. Hints of bourbon flavor perfectly compliment its roasted malts to produce a beer fit for a King.

22 oz bottle from Liquor Outlet. Brown in color with some ruby highlights, small lasting head. Aroma of chocolate, caramel/molasses, vanilla, and oak. Taste is smooth and malty, alot of molasses, touches of chocolate and tobacco, oak, vanilla and some well integrated whiskey. Some alcohol warm in the finish but very drinkable. Full bodied. Very nice.

Bottle poured into pint class. The aroma is caramelly and alcoholic like a bourbon. It pours almost black with a nice tan head atop it. The flavor is sweet caramel, vanilla, sweet chocolate, and bourbon. It’s like a dessert in a bottle. It lingers a little heavy on the palate, like you ate a bowl of ice cream. Very good, but 22 ounces of the stuff is a bit heavy on the stomach. Almost too sweet; could use a little bitterness.

Bottle: Pours a stunning dark brown with a finger of creamy tan head. Oak is the first part of the aroma, followed by sweet maltiness, vanilla, and bourbon. Tastes sweet with caramel and vanilla up front, finishing with a bourbon and oaked tail. Rich. Lingering bourbon is really sticking to my tongue...

Pours a deep black. Light barely comes through even when held right up to a lamp. Fragrant...roasted malt and vanilla. Taste is roasted malt, coffee, vanilla, dark chocolate, burnt toast, a little alchohol, but well hidden for the most part. Heavy mouthfeel, a little bite on the front end leads to a pleasant creamy texture. Long roasted malt and coffee finish. Gets sweeter as it warms, more milk chocolate notes. Best stout I’ve had. Great winter warmer.

22oz Bomber. Tracked down this one at Kroger of all places! I couldn’t even find this at a local specialty shop. Interesting combination of malts, hops, and what taste like coconut. As described by brewer, the hints of bourbon do add a nice touch. Overall, I’m not a huge fan, but definitely worth drinking.

On tap at steak house. Pours dark black with a small, creamy head. Dark tan with good lacing. Aroma is very bready. Chocolate and coffee with a strong alcohol character. Strong flavor of semi sweet chocolate. Slight hints of caramel with a strong roasted character ti finish it. Silky smooth mouth feel. Carbonation a bit prickly. A very good beer, it’s a little sweet and a tad over carbonated.

Bottle shared with bro for my b-day. Pours a deep golden brown with thick head. Taste is creamy smooth and sweet. Even better on the palate with a very smooth finish. This definitely gets a spot on my favorite stouts list. Can’t wait to try it again.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a deep, dark brown with a creamy thin tan head that lasts throughout. Good lacing. The aroma has lots of sweet caramel and roasted malt with a hint of vanilla. Great bourbon aroma. Initial flavor is of bourbon followed by a malty sweetness with a nicely balanced bitterness. Roasted malt. Grassy hop flavor. Warming seems to accentuate the vanilla. Medium to heavy bodied. Finishes surprisingly dry. Truly an interesting stout.
