Commercial Description:
Dragon’s Milk is a 17th century term used to describe the strong beer usually reserved for royalty. This strong ale was aged in oak for over 120 days. The aging process extracts flavors from the wood, which contribute to its complex character. Hints of bourbon flavor perfectly compliment its roasted malts to produce a beer fit for a King.

Pours a oily dark brown with no head. Aroma is a little on the whiskey side. Tastes of burnt grain, chocolate, little raisin, some toffee. Finishes with a sticky burnt taste.

^^oaky (oak makes up probably 90% of the flavor).
occasional hints of chclt-malt sneak out, but this is the oakyest beer i’ve had at 450 ratings, a bit overdone IMO.

Very tasty brew with a definite taste of vanilla. A little caramel taste lingers on the palate.

Bottle courtesy of thirdeye11. Dark brown to reddish pour. Nice chocolate smell with the spice of higher ABV. Cocoa flavoring with a slight tingle. Woody finish, very woody. I like this.

Bottle. Pours a deep dark black with a thin soapy beige head. Light wood and vanilla, smoke, bitter cocoa, roast, and a bit of sweet malt. Medium to thick bodied, smooth and silky, chocolate and a little booze. Tastes a bit like a bourbon and chocolate milkshake. Light bourbon on the finish, touch of alcohol, vanilla and roast. This was quite tasty.

Pours a very dark chestnut brown with mahogany edges when held to a light source and a 1.5 finger foamy tan head. Decent retention, slowly fading into a lasting ring that leaves spots of lacing behind. Chocolate malt aroma with subtle bourbon, earthy oak and vanilla. Lighter bodied tha I expected but not thin. Silky chocolate maltiness with hints of caramel and toffee. Not roasty at all. Surprising dark fruit notes including cherry, plum and raisin which provide a nice balance to the heavy malt presence. Subtle bourbon presence that isn’t overpowering, letting the other flavors shine through. Earthy oakiness with a nice touch of vanilla which adds to the smoothness of the beer. This in combination with the well masked ABV make this beer pretty quaffable. Slightly dry finish.

Dragons milk is the stuff legends are made of. A big beer although lacking the hoppy goodness one of my favorites.

Draft @ Food Dance. Amazing smell of roasted malts, bourbon, oak, chocolate and roasted coffee. Touch of vanilla. Very balanced, developing aroma. Flavour of roasted malts, coffee, bourbon and vanilla. Bitter and fairly sweet finish.
