| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 15, 2004 As a full on beer geek, I am a little leery when a beer label brags about using a single solitary hop and just one malt. However this beer is not too bad at all, despite its simplicity. Pours a pale golden color with a miniscule off-white head. Thin lacing. Ther aroma is lightly hoppy with a pinch of citrus. Light-bodied and dry, with a back-to-basics hops and malt profile that is a refreshing flavor. There is also a tiny bit of fruitiness. The finish is crisp and dry. This beer won’t win any awards but I appreciate a straightforward easy-drinking beer that actually has flavor any day. harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 22, 2004 This was not awful, but it was just kind of weak and boring. Some nice fruity flavors mix well with just a bit of hops, but the malt backbone I thought was kind of weak and did not compliment the rest of the beer as a whole. Finish is dry and slightly peppery, with just a hint of acidity. urbnhautebourg (974), Annapolis, Maryland, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 12, 2004 Updated: Jun 13, 2004Fascinating. I really had no idea what style this was as I drank it. It sort of reminded me of a North German pilsner, with its wicked blunt bitterness, but then it also this very tame fruity golden ale quality to it, as well as Saaz spice and lemon. Which of course makes it all the more amusing that it is just one malt and one hop. Quite complex, actually. And I simply cannot believe this is only 30 IBU. Actually, now that I drink more of it, it is definitely a German pilsner in style. Bitter and flowery and really wonderful. skaughty (621), Marietta, Georgia, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 7, 2004 This beer has elements of an american standard, a pale ale, and a belgian wheat. All of this is wrapped in a simple package. The pour leads to some lively carbonation and some lacing. The body is thin (as adverstised), with some nice lemon grassy punch. The finish bitters significantly, but without drying. Simple and refreshing. heemer77 (4312), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | May 29, 2004 Very little head tops a pale gold body. Smells of malt and a little apple. The taste is light with oranges and apples. Nothing to make this stand out. Terminus (1955), Las Cruces, New Mexico, USA
