Commercial Description:
As the story goes, the charm of the Cap hails an otherwise mischievous band of winged-monkeys to carry out any three commands its owner wishes, such as carrying you from vast scarlet poppy fields to Emerald City, or even to the comfort of a country farmhouse. Golden Cap Saison however, brings the comfort to you with its modern interpretation of a traditional farmhouse ale. A soft, pale beer, Golden Cap accentuates the flavors and aromas of summer fields. Brewed with an ancestor to wheat called spelt, and bottle-conditioned; it's straw-colored body accentuated with lively carbonation and unique fermentation profile evoke fresh cut hay and cracked peppercorns. Ep-pe, pep-pe, kak-ke! Hil-lo, hol-lo, hel-lo! Ziz-zy, zuz-zy, zik!

lightly hazy yellow, not much head, some lace. i catch a whiff of banana. flavor is cream & bananas with a belgian fruity yeastiness. ceramy mouth feel, banana finish. sends chills down my spine. that is not meant as a compliment. rayboy01 thoughtfully provided the sample, which got stolen by winged monkeys.

Pale yellow pour. Musty grain aroma. Tastes pretty plain with sweet grain and finishes dry and citrusy. Very plain.

Odd taste for a saison. Extremely intense. Lacking the subtle taste of the style. Not impressive or pleasant.

On tap at the Flying Saucer in KC. Pours a crystal clear, golden orange body with an inch thick, creamy, white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a good amount of thick lacing. Aroma is a nice mix of hay, banana, pepper, and soft wheats and citrus. Flavor is pretty spicy with a light sourness. Banana and lemon zest, yeast, a light wheat, and plenty of pepper and hay. Finishes very dry with a peppery, lemon, wheat aftertaste that lingers for quite awhile. Light bodied and smooth. Overall, I’m enjoying this. Its not extraordinary, but has a nice sour spice to go along with the wheat. Nice balance and fairly easy drinking.

Tap at ACBF 2009: Pours a hazy light yellow with a dense white head. Fresh crisp wheaty aroma with a lemony note. Light and fluffy body- crisp texture. Dry flavor overall with evident phenolic character and wheaty crispness. Lemony notes but not at all citric. Dry and easy going, yet simple all around.
