Commercial Description:
As the story goes, the charm of the Cap hails an otherwise mischievous band of winged-monkeys to carry out any three commands its owner wishes, such as carrying you from vast scarlet poppy fields to Emerald City, or even to the comfort of a country farmhouse. Golden Cap Saison however, brings the comfort to you with its modern interpretation of a traditional farmhouse ale. A soft, pale beer, Golden Cap accentuates the flavors and aromas of summer fields. Brewed with an ancestor to wheat called spelt, and bottle-conditioned; it's straw-colored body accentuated with lively carbonation and unique fermentation profile evoke fresh cut hay and cracked peppercorns. Ep-pe, pep-pe, kak-ke! Hil-lo, hol-lo, hel-lo! Ziz-zy, zuz-zy, zik!

Aroma was heavy on the grain, not to say that it was a rich aroma, red fruit hints ,not much of the spicing others seem to get, taste was much the same, grainey malt, a little of a wheat tang, some red sucker sweetness, and only the remotest tinges of spice of any kind. Seemed a little to one dimensional for a saison, could see it as a late sipper

An exceptional example of the Saison style by an American brewer, really good quality. Delicate aroma that has a peppery/sugary spice quality. Plenty of yeast with fruity apricot and peaches countered by fresh dough. A thin, swirling head sits atop of a cloudy golden-orange body. There are minute traces of lacing on the glass. Medium bodied with a sweet and dry feeling as well as a boozy kick. Dry, doughy malt with gritty grass and crisp wheat. Spicy flavor that also has a fresh hotness. Calm esters and a back drop of citrus and melon. I enjoyed these bottles even more than my score indicates.

Bottle. Pours bright gold with a white head. The aroma has fruity and honey sweetness, with spices and some citric zest. The flavor is sweet, with cardamom and other spices, honey and a hint of citrus. Refreshing.

Bottle. Pours an effervescent hazy light straw color with a 1-cm thick white head. Has a pleasant aroma, almost wit-like, but slightly more peppery. The taste is light and non-commital, too sweet and not even a remote sense of dryness to it.

This beer is delicious! It has a light color and pours with a small head. It is a strong beer for a saison.
