Commercial Description:
As the story goes, the charm of the Cap hails an otherwise mischievous band of winged-monkeys to carry out any three commands its owner wishes, such as carrying you from vast scarlet poppy fields to Emerald City, or even to the comfort of a country farmhouse. Golden Cap Saison however, brings the comfort to you with its modern interpretation of a traditional farmhouse ale. A soft, pale beer, Golden Cap accentuates the flavors and aromas of summer fields. Brewed with an ancestor to wheat called spelt, and bottle-conditioned; it's straw-colored body accentuated with lively carbonation and unique fermentation profile evoke fresh cut hay and cracked peppercorns. Ep-pe, pep-pe, kak-ke! Hil-lo, hol-lo, hel-lo! Ziz-zy, zuz-zy, zik!

Draft at Old Chicago, Okemos. Hazy light amber with a thin off-white head. Aromas of lemon, earthy hops, yeast and spice. Taste was strongly spiced - pepper and cardamom - and yeasty. Light hops and grassiness. I love saisons in the summer, but this one went too overboard on the spices to be truly refreshing.

Draft – RFD. Hazy gold thin creamy white head. Soft sour citrus and peppered bready notes ride lighter swirls of banana candy. Grassy citric flavors give way to further hints of sweetened black pepper. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, lightly spiced finish. A refreshing summer brew…

Bottle in trade as an extra from dmschefke. Thanks! Pours golden with a lively white head and nice carbonation. Smell is pale malt, yeast, and fruity esters and spice. Taste is heavily spiced with some orange peel, and clove and influenced by the yeast. Almost lightly hoppy too. Too yeasty and spiced for my taste, but a well made beer, nonetheless.

12 oz bottle: Aroma is fruity, yeast, and some Belgian spice aroma within this brew. Appearance is a clear golden pour with a medium sized head that diminishes into a soapy white foam. Taste has definitely got a Belgian overtone, yeast, lightly spiced and has an overall dry mouth feel. Palate is carbonated, dry finishing, and yeast and fruit overtones. Overall, a nice Saison not the best but I like it all around. Cheers!

Bottle Pours a hazy yellow gold with a decent white head. The head lasts well. It also laces fairly well. Has a good fruity aroma. Has a good carbonation and a nice mouthfeel. Nice flavors of fruit and floral. Has a decent finish and an okay aftertaste. Has a medium body. The texture is a bit watery but kind of dry. This is a good drinking beer.

Slightly hazed, bright gold appearance with a small white head and decent lacing. Yeasty, spicy aroma with a hint of soft fruit. The spelt imparts graininess and a hay-like characteristic; spice and fruit in the aftertaste. Mild, gently hopped mouthfeel, well carbonated, with a medium length finish

On tap @ Map Room. Hazy, color of dirty straw; thin, fungussy white head; nose is pears and some hay; flavor is bubblegum, pears; effervescent palate; medium bodied, ending fruity and spritzy.
