Commercial Description:
As the story goes, the charm of the Cap hails an otherwise mischievous band of winged-monkeys to carry out any three commands its owner wishes, such as carrying you from vast scarlet poppy fields to Emerald City, or even to the comfort of a country farmhouse. Golden Cap Saison however, brings the comfort to you with its modern interpretation of a traditional farmhouse ale. A soft, pale beer, Golden Cap accentuates the flavors and aromas of summer fields. Brewed with an ancestor to wheat called spelt, and bottle-conditioned; it's straw-colored body accentuated with lively carbonation and unique fermentation profile evoke fresh cut hay and cracked peppercorns. Ep-pe, pep-pe, kak-ke! Hil-lo, hol-lo, hel-lo! Ziz-zy, zuz-zy, zik!

Pour is a bright but cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is some dry malts with some yeast. Flavor is a bit of pepper at the start then follows a very mild citrus. Everything is kind of low key in this beer and nothing really stands out to put this one over the top. Still worth a try as this is my fav style.

$7.99/6 pack on sale. Spicy, sour aroma and taste. Hazy golden color. As true to Saison style as most American brews. Wish it were available year-around!

22 oz bottle from Wilmer Liquors (New Lenox, IL). Pours a hazy yellow straw with small white bubbly head that laces a bit and eventually dies to a film. Aromas throw a lot of pilsner malt, earthy hop and barnyard feel with some mellow sweetness and slight spice. Not quite feeling this. Initial has some decent carbonation, moving a nice grainy sweetness, a bit creamy, good body for the style, with some barnyard and fruity sweetness. No real spice discernible. Certain tasty, light yet flavorful, with pear, apple, and very light banana. Belgian, yet a little bit of funk to it. This isn’t bad, just doesn’t necessarily stick out. Stays creamy, with more fruit coming in, stronger, into the body and the spice comes in a little more, the funk drops out a little more. Finishes a touch dry, a touch spiced and fruity. Ok.

12oz bottle. Semi-clear yellow color with white head the recedes quickly. Aroma is full of yeast, light malts. The flavor brings a unique yeasty taste, with a little spice and light malts. Not really my style but enjoyable.

Bomber. Hazy yellow body with a frothy white head that disappears quickly. Sweet malty aroma of biscuit, honey, lemon, wheat and flowers. Lightly spicy. The flavor is moderately to heavily sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes moderately sweet and lightly bitter. Peppery alcohol taste with some grassy notes. Medium body with a sticky texture. Mild carbonation. Overly sweet and under funky, but still an enjoyable saison.

Draft at Map Room. A lot better than I expected. Pours a nice golden color, cloudy. Nose is sweet, bready, bananas, a hint of lemon. The taste is pretty solid, super quenching with a nice lemony tartness to it. Quite dry and a nice body. Nice malt notes to back up the citrus elements. Pretty tasty stuff...

Partially cloudy pour with white head. Pungent malty smell with some hints of citrus. Tastes ok. Little carbonation and has a good aftertaste.
