Commercial Description:
As the story goes, the charm of the Cap hails an otherwise mischievous band of winged-monkeys to carry out any three commands its owner wishes, such as carrying you from vast scarlet poppy fields to Emerald City, or even to the comfort of a country farmhouse. Golden Cap Saison however, brings the comfort to you with its modern interpretation of a traditional farmhouse ale. A soft, pale beer, Golden Cap accentuates the flavors and aromas of summer fields. Brewed with an ancestor to wheat called spelt, and bottle-conditioned; it's straw-colored body accentuated with lively carbonation and unique fermentation profile evoke fresh cut hay and cracked peppercorns. Ep-pe, pep-pe, kak-ke! Hil-lo, hol-lo, hel-lo! Ziz-zy, zuz-zy, zik!

22oz bottle. Pours a pale straw color with a thin white head. Aroma is sweet and earthy, with citrusy hops, banana, yeast, and some spices. Taste is light and refreshing, with some initial sweet flavors of banana and citrusy hops giving way to a long somewhat sour finish of yeast, grains, and earth. Very refreshing and drinkable -- like a richer and more complex Hoegaarden.

Pours a pale gold with adequate head. Aroma of lemon, fruit, and that good ole brett. Taste is very refreshing, slightly sweet, grassy, with some funky sour. Wonderful brew that I will be drinking a bit more of.

Purchased at Rozi’s in Lakewood. Aroma is a nice funky lemony farmhouse goodness. It smells of fresh cut wheat, wet summer morning cobwebs and drying wood. Maybe I am letting my imagination get away from me on this one. Maybe not though, the flavor of this follows though nicely. The funky aromas translate into a smooth grassy lemony taste. Quite an impressive brew.

65cl bottle, Ann Arbor, MI. Pale golden colour, somewhat skunky aroma with spice. Lightly carbonated, peppery flavor, sweet finish. Decent but there are more interesting ’Saison’ beers available.

Bomber of the stuff. A bit of spiceyness, and a good finish of bitterness. Deep golden with lots of initial white head. Acceptable neutral aroma. Good drinking, with above average mouthfeel.

bottle - Pours golden with a slight haze and a one finger white head. The aroma is of citrus accented yeast and bready malt. The flavor is a sweet, biscuit malt brew with wheat and some mild citrus notes. It has a bubbly body and a clean finish with a touch of bitterness. It’s good though I’m getting very little of the farmhouse funk that sometimes is present with this style. It’s also sweeter than usual.

As good as Dupont. A phenomenal example of the style. Wonderfully effervescent, nice smooth mouthfeel and an excellent hop to malt balance. Not overly spicy or sweet like some other brewers attempts at the style. Hats off to the guys at New Holland.
