Commercial Description:
As the story goes, the charm of the Cap hails an otherwise mischievous band of winged-monkeys to carry out any three commands its owner wishes, such as carrying you from vast scarlet poppy fields to Emerald City, or even to the comfort of a country farmhouse. Golden Cap Saison however, brings the comfort to you with its modern interpretation of a traditional farmhouse ale. A soft, pale beer, Golden Cap accentuates the flavors and aromas of summer fields. Brewed with an ancestor to wheat called spelt, and bottle-conditioned; it's straw-colored body accentuated with lively carbonation and unique fermentation profile evoke fresh cut hay and cracked peppercorns. Ep-pe, pep-pe, kak-ke! Hil-lo, hol-lo, hel-lo! Ziz-zy, zuz-zy, zik!

Bottle. Cloudy dark "I drank too much last night and not enough water" tyellow with a fair to middling head that sticks well to the glass. Aromas of an Ohio Barnyard, some fruit dirt grass and maybe a touch of cow poop. Flavors are rather sweet and not appealing, mostly funk, fruit and just utter cloying sweetness. Man.... I cant get past it.Bleh.

Thanks Floyd. This beer pours a clear golden with a light gold head that has a shave cream appearance and it never completely dissipated. A very pleasant fruit and yeast aroma with some funk. An earthy taste opens this beer. There is a dry bitterness that lingers as an aftertaste. Apples, other citrus fruit, and passion fruit are nice. There is decent balance between sweetness and tartness that works well here. Although a light drinking beer the flavor is surprisingly complex. A nice light saison.

Poured with a big, foamy, frothy white head that starts out textured but settles kind of fast. Some lace. Very slightly hazy gold color. Aroma is interesting lots of mineral and a bit harsh yet, paradoxically a bit soft too. Same with flavor which is a little more sweet than the clasic saisons I"ve had, but not bad. Good mouth filling body and carbonation. Finish is decent. Can’t taste the alcohol.

Bottle. Poured hazy gold with lots of carbonation and a big white head. Aroma of yeast, spice, earthy hops. Taste is yeasty, sweet, fruity, spiced goodness. Pretty nice. Mouth is light and well carbonated. Finish is a little tart. Overall, a decent and sweet light saison.

Tap @ OBF... Poured a pale golden with a thin white head. Tart, yeast and esters on the nose. Well carbonate and light and crisp. Tart fruit ester flavors and a mild hop flavor. A touch of banana too.

Bottle at ’Mondial de la Biere 2009’, Montréal, QC. Pours a slightly hazy bubbly gold with an average size diminishing white head. Sweet aroma and flavour of fruit, wheat, honey, light floral hops, spices and herbs -- somewhat refreshing. Pretty good, an average Saison.

Hazy yellow color with a good sized white head. Spicy, yeasty aroma. Little more malty character in the taste. Really lacks the earthiness that makes a saison so appealing.
