Commercial Description:
As the story goes, the charm of the Cap hails an otherwise mischievous band of winged-monkeys to carry out any three commands its owner wishes, such as carrying you from vast scarlet poppy fields to Emerald City, or even to the comfort of a country farmhouse. Golden Cap Saison however, brings the comfort to you with its modern interpretation of a traditional farmhouse ale. A soft, pale beer, Golden Cap accentuates the flavors and aromas of summer fields. Brewed with an ancestor to wheat called spelt, and bottle-conditioned; it's straw-colored body accentuated with lively carbonation and unique fermentation profile evoke fresh cut hay and cracked peppercorns. Ep-pe, pep-pe, kak-ke! Hil-lo, hol-lo, hel-lo! Ziz-zy, zuz-zy, zik!

Bottle. Hazy straw color with a pretty big white head. Aroma’s of wheat, other grains, and some spiciness. Mostly spices and bread, very little hop bite. Somewhat sticky, though still refreshing. A nice beer to rotate into a session, but too much sweetness to be sessionable itself.

A lightly hazed yellow saison with a thick off white head. In aroma, a nice spiced wheat with cloves, berries, light solvent notes. In mouth, a refreshing silky saison, with cloves, light bananas, and oily finish. Good and clean. Bottle at Mondiale 2009.

On tap at Sheffield’s in River Grove, Il. Pint served a straw/golden hue with a white foamy head that diminished fairly quickly to a bubbly layer but left some ribbons of lacing. The aroma was a fresh nose of soft malt, light fruit, lemon, and grassy hops. The flavor added a hint of sweetness, soft malt, and a subtle hop bitterness. Medium to light body, crisp, with lively carbonation, and a nice dryness to the finish.

22 oz’er. Nice pour -- bright golden orange with an initial fizz that settled. The aroma was pleasant and a bit yeasty, bright and fruity. This drinks pleasantly enough, light but flavorful, with a nice character that would go well with any fresh vegetable, egg dish, or even a light poultry dish. Excellent. (#3612, 7/15/2009)

Pours a cloudy maize color with a white head that lingers. Aroma of yeast, lemon. and orange. Grassy hops, yeast, and lemon flavor. A bit milder and sweeter with less funk than most saisons I’ve had before.
