dwaggs2 (530), Lee’s Summit, Missouri, USA Nov 4, 2009 Bottle. Poured a darker orange color with a little white head. Aroma was malts, ginger, and faint pumpkin. Flavor was a little weaker with spice, clove, and pumpkin coming through. A clean aftertaste. Very smooth on the palate, and a little carbonation. A very good seasonal beer. argo0 (6842), Washington DC, USA Nov 3, 2009 Draft. Off-white head atop hazy amber body. Aroma is medium sweet, allspice, ginger, some clove, nutmeg. Taste is medium sweet, allspice, nutmeg, light ginger, clove. Light-medium body. checkmatei1 (629), Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 2, 2009 Bottle: Poured an amber orange with a nice head. The aroma was spice. The flavor was pumpkin pie spices. Overall, just average for me. 13mikey (117), New Hope, Minnesota, USA Oct 31, 2009 12 oz bottle from Princeton’s. Cloudy pale orange color, thin white head. Aroma and flavor are subtle pumpkin and spices, notably nutmeg. Nice lingering finish. JamesD (192), Centreville, Virginia, USA Oct 27, 2009 I liked this pumpkin beer, it avoids the sticky mouthfeel a lot of them are guilty of. It’s a bit drier than other pumpkin ales, and the nutmeg and cinnamon are noticeable, but not overpowering. This is one of the better examples of the style, in my opinion. andyhwcinc (30), Illinois, USA Oct 25, 2009 Rather light and plain pumpkin ale, tastes almost like a pumpkin lager ala Lakefront Brewery Pumpkin Lager, but maybe a little creamier. It’s just OK. DragonStout (1380), Pataskala, Ohio, USA Oct 24, 2009 This had the usual suspects here, nutmeg, cinnamon and alspice. The flavors followed but something just didnt blend well here.I was rather dissapointed. obguthr (986), Poquoson, Virginia, USA Oct 23, 2009 Moderately strong mushroom and clove aroma. Clear amber, thin white head. Flavor of pumpkin but only enough to accentuate the barley malt. Light on the spices but it does finish with a very slight dusting of cinnamon and nutmeg. This is such a refreshing departure from most pumpkin ales. It isn’t in your face with the the pumpkin or spice, nor are those ingredients used to mask poor beer. The beer is the focus, and gosh darn it, I like that. Went well with oyster stew. Beautifully crafted!
