Ichabod combines malted barley and real pumpkin with cinnamon and nutmeg in a delicious and inviting brew. A rewarding complement to many dishes, Ichabod pairs well with autumnal foods such as poultry and root vegetables. After dinner, try it with your favorite dessert!

Draft from Northern Virginia BrewFest. Pours a copper color with a moderate sized white foam. Slight pumpkin aroma, with almost minimal amounts of spice. Flavor was slightly disappointing - not bad, but certainly not up to the aroma or flavor that I’ve had of other pumpkin beers. Decent enough - not offensive.

Pours an orange-copper color with a small, white, quick diminishing head. Taste starts with a buttery pumpkin spice flavor and fades to an herbal finish. This is ok, but probably not something I’d try again.

Pours a light orange with a small head. Typical aroma of pumpkin, cinnamon, and nutmeg. An above average pumpkin beer, very moderate all the way around. Medium body with pretty standard carbonation.

Was handed a bottle of this over the weekend and asked for my thoughts on it by a local distributor. Aroma is definitely pumpkiny but not overpowering. The same can be said for the flavor where more spice comes out including some true pumpkin in it. Standard variety of pie spices to boot with a hoppier than expected finish. I wouldn’t buy a case but I’ll take a freebie.

Gold to orange pour with a fizzy head. Pumpkin spice on the nose. Nutmeg and cinnamon upfront with a hoppy pumpkin flavored finish.

I’m not opposed to Pumpkin ales by any stretch but this is one of the more boring ones I’ve had. The aroma is pumpkin, apple juice, and a touch of cinnamon. The flavor is rather small with just a touch of pumpkin and spice. It’s very fizzy. Pumpkin doesn’t have a ton of flavor so this one needed a lot more spice going on for it to work. It didn’t work.
