Some hints of cooked pumpkin, lighly spiced in what is otherwise a pretty straight forward ale. Better than some pumpkin ales I have had recently ... at least the pumpkin is not spoiled. But I don’t see any point to a beer made of cooked squash or cooked carrots or whatever ... unless it adds a distinctive sweet spice to the beer. This is just a lightly vegetal ale. Yeah ... ok but sort of pointless. NaturalIce (115), originally from Michigan, New York, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 13, 2006 Excellent spicy pumpkin aroma, but I was a little disappointed with the pour; very little head, decent color. Somewhat weak finish but the overall palate is great, starting with spicy pumpkin and moves to nut/fruit finish. sliffy (2012), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Oct 12, 2006 Bottle: Clear golden color with a small white head. Aroma, cinnamon, pumpkin, caramel and some grassy hops. Flavor, pumpkin, and some maltyness, some light spicing. It was pretty smooth but a little too light bodied for me. gws57 (1138), Saint Charles, Illinois, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Oct 9, 2006 Found this one bottled at my local Binny’s in St. Charles, Illinois. Orangeish-yellow pour with a thick, off white head. Peppery in the nose with a bit of clove and pumpkin. Flavor is sweet, with pumpkin, nutmeg, orange peel and lemon. Finished strangely astringent. I liked everything about this but the finish. JasonG (700), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 8, 2006 12 oz bottle: Pours a slightly cloudy medium yellow color with smallish off white head. Aroma is malty, hint of pumpkin, allspice, black pepper. Flavor is slightly malty, with a faint twinge of pumpkin. Finish has a metallic note and is a bit too bitter IMO for this type of brew. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 6, 2006 Pours a hazy golden color wiht a thin whilte head. Aroma is of pumpkin, spices, fruit malt, and slight bitterness. Flavor starts off with the pumpkin then gives way to the spices and fruit. Finishes slightly bitter. Better then I expected but still isn’t anything I’ll be looking forward to getting every winter. xav33 (313), Midland, MI, Michigan, USA

12 oz bottle
Recent bottling, carved into 10/06
Medium pour in a tulip glass.
Poured a hazy amber with a small foamy quickly diminishing white head.
Smelt of moderate sweet pumpkin with light cloves, and a hint of cinnamon and nutmeg.
Taste was upfront moderate bitter sweet pumpkin taste with the medley of spices followed by a light bitter pumpkin/squash taste and a hint of spices on a short/medium light bitter finish. Mouthfeel was light bodied, watery, fizzy, with medium astringency.
Overall, a beer that does a good job showcasing the pumpkin. holdenn (1443), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 1/5 | 4/20 | Oct 2, 2006 12 oz bottle pours amber in color with a small off white head. The nose is lots of vegetables pumpkin and squash, alright but i’m expecting more from these guys. As the beer fills my mouth it’s pumpkin spiced, ginger and nutmeg. Not too bad until it fades, it fades to an astringent lactic tinge. This suddenly turns this into an undrinkable drainpour. I don’t know what happened but this unpalatable.
