bottle. Aroma: some cinnamon and nutmeg up front. Light pumpkin. Slight sweet malt aroma. Appearance: Deep golden in color and clear. Off-white head was full and fothy. No lacing. Flavor: Slightly sweet malt, cinnamon and nutmeg, and light pumpkin. Pumpkin is very subtle for a pumpkin beer. Medium-light bitterness. Nice dry finish. Palate: Medium-light bodied and a little watery. Medium carbonation. Overall: An ok beer, but lacking in pumpkin flavor.

Bottle pours a very lightly hazed golden/orange with a boatload of carbonation and an off-white head. Aroma shows more spices than anything else, with nutmeg in abundance. Yep, spicy and floral on top of a base of malts. Flavor is at once sweet and sour with a dry yet powerful kick of spice. Additional light nuttines, notes of honey and a trace of alcohol. ’Tis the season. (P.S. I like the old label better simply because the new one is so muddy... bad color choices.)

Pours copper with a creamy off-white head. The aroma has lots of cinnamon and nutmeg with some sweet pumpkin in the background that blends well with the malt. Medium body with lots of sharp carbonation. Taste has lots of veggie and pumpkin, the spice from the aroma is barely noticable. The carbonation is this is overpowering and probably drowning out the spice aspect. The finish has lingering veggies. Not my favorite style at all, but this seemed adequate at best even for the style.

12oz, no date. Pours a clear orange golden with a tiny light yellow beige head. Aroma has some cinnamon, nutmeg and even ginger, some light caramel malts--very little pumpkin though. Flavor kinda reminded me of Great Lakes Christmas at first--though not as good. There are the spices up front, then a little bitterness, and then a biscuity sweet finish. I dunno where the flavors went. I get very little pumpkin, if at all. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. I may have to try it again, but Buffalo Bills Pumpkin is better than this. I’ve got a Shipyard Pumpkin in the fridge, and a DFH Punkin should be in the mail coming to me (also O’Fallon once it’s in stock around here). We’ll see which one’s the best, as I doubt it’ll be this one.

Pours a yellow/red in color with a small, yet lasting head. Smells of orange and other spices. Taste is similar, some pumpkin flavor, but not quite the flavor of pumpkin that many of us love in pumpkin pie. Taste like it may have been made from pumpkins that were not quite fresh. However, this is pretty good none the less.

Thanks to OhioDad for this one. pours hazy gold with a firm white head of tiny bubbles. Fruity malt aroma. Subtle sweetness with an earthy dryness. The pumpkin just doesn’t jump out at you enough. Otherwise it’s a fair amber ale.

I’ve heard a lot about this beer and I’m quite excited to finally have a bottle of it poured into my glass! Pours a clear, light orange (golden really) color. Moderately carbonated, but no lasting head. Aroma is very faint malt, pumpkin, and cinnamon spice (overall it seems soapy or rubbery). Flavor the same as the aroma and very well blended between the malt, pumpkin, and the spices (mostly ginger). Finish is slightly dry and spicy with just a touch of bitterness. I was hoping for a bit more pumpkin pie aroma and flavor. This one is good, but it could be great if the pumpkin and spice were both amplified a bit. 12 oz bottle, $1.50 from River’s Bend.

Orange clear beer with disapating white head. Good pumpkin taste. More like cinnamon and pumkin pie. Not overwhelming, but still, the flavor is there. This beer fits the Fall well. Pumpkin beers seem to be showing up everywhere. Its easy enough to market, with Ichabod and jackolaterns. Most fall flat on flavor though, but this one is decent.
