It’s a bit drier than other pumpkin ales, and the nutmeg and cinnamon are noticeable, but not overpowering. This is one of the better examples of the style, in my opinion. andyhwcinc (57), Illinois, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 25, 2009 Rather light and plain pumpkin ale, tastes almost like a pumpkin lager ala Lakefront Brewery Pumpkin Lager, but maybe a little creamier. It’s just OK. DragonStout (1380), Pataskala, Ohio, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 23, 2009 Moderately strong mushroom and clove aroma. Clear amber, thin white head. Flavor of pumpkin but only enough to accentuate the barley malt. Light on the spices but it does finish with a very slight dusting of cinnamon and nutmeg. This is such a refreshing departure from most pumpkin ales. It isn’t in your face with the the pumpkin or spice, nor are those ingredients used to mask poor beer. The beer is the focus, and gosh darn it, I like that. Went well with oyster stew. Beautifully crafted! Elwood (684), Leesburg, Virginia, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Oct 21, 2009 Serving: 12 oz. bottle.
Appearance: Slightly hazy amber orange with a small, off-white, foamy head. Lesser head retention.
Aroma: Spicy, vegetal pumpkin with a bit of fruitiness and earthiness.
Flavor: Seriously lacking flavor here. Light spice, pumpkin, salt, and club soda notes.
Palate: Medium carbonation with a medium-rich mouthfeel and a short, tasteless finish. Heavy on the tongue, it just kind of sits there.
Overall: Skip this one unless you like thick soda water. hershiser2 (923), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA

Clear orange with an inch of off-white head. Smells of pepper, pimpkin, and spice. Flavors of spice and pumpkin. Bland, but OK. jport4087 (99), Pennsylvania, USA
