Commercial Description:
Night Tripper is an Imperial Stout brewed for a Fat Tuesday release. Dark, mysterious and poetic, Night Tripper's abundance of roasted malts, combined with flaked barley create a rich, roasty beer with deeply intense and lush flavors. Night Tripper's layered, nuanced tones invite intrigue and reward a curious palate.

I tracked down a bottle of this at Lukas Liquor Superstore in Ballwin, MO. The pour was surprisingly rich and the slow developing head after pouring was equally as rich. The flavor was extremely mild and the heat from the alcohol was minimal. I think that with more clever packaging this could be another top imperial. Will try again. Highly recommended!!!

Brown-maroon colored with a modest head. Nice chocolate roast aroma, pretty restrained overall for the style. Brown malt flavors with medium chocolate and moderately deep maltiness. Alcohol appears midway through. Overly sweet, and seemingly under-attenuated for the style.

On tap at Barley’s Smokehouse. Black in color with a thin beige head. Rich and malty nose with chocolate and coffee. Chocolatey malt flavor up front followed by a slight alcohol burn and a bitter coffee finish. Tasty stuff, and a little less hot than the bottle.

22oz Bottle (Also had this on Draught at TND but lost my notes): Aroma of chocolate, roasted malts, slight alcohol, roasted barley, hops, coffee, dark caramel, and a hint of molasses. Pours very dark brown in color with small to medium-sized, rocky, dense, brown head that lasted throughout. Clear. Not sparkling. Very good lacing. Flavor is light to medium sweet and lightly bitter. Tastes of roasted barley, roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, light piney hops, tobacco, slight wood, and slight vanilla. Medium to full body. Smooth, creamy, slightly tingly, then chalky texture. Soft to average carbonation. Roasted barley, tobacco, and chocolate finish is chalky and lightly dry. A very nice stout. 10.8%ABV is very well hidden.
