The pour was surprisingly rich and the slow developing head after pouring was equally as rich. The flavor was extremely mild and the heat from the alcohol was minimal. I think that with more clever packaging this could be another top imperial. Will try again. Highly recommended!!! BillKismet (1957), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 5, 2009 Brown-maroon colored with a modest head. Nice chocolate roast aroma, pretty restrained overall for the style. Brown malt flavors with medium chocolate and moderately deep maltiness. Alcohol appears midway through. Overly sweet, and seemingly under-attenuated for the style. after4ever (2828), Brier, Washington, USA

Soft to average carbonation. Roasted barley, tobacco, and chocolate finish is chalky and lightly dry. A very nice stout. 10.8%ABV is very well hidden. chronictonic (404), Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania, USA
