22oz bottle. Very dark brown with no head. Nice chocolate aroma with light dark fruitand alot of alcohol as it warms. The taste was of sweet chocolate, roasted malt, light dark fruit, some brown sugar , and alcohol. Some chalk in the finish, but that’s ok. Big imperial stout, but very easy to drink. This is a danm fine beer. If they could ease the alcohol presence.....

Bomber during a thunderstorm. Big big chocolate nose with a light oaty touch and warm, fruity roast. Some alcohol coming through. Black pour with little head - but what was there was dark brown. Full, obese, heavy body, massively malty with light crispness and pleasant alcohol warming. Taste has big chocolate overtones, and this is basically a chocolate beer, as the roasted notes are here only for support. Oak and vanilla notes. Moderately sweet with some light berry and faint but contributory hops. A nice earthy tone that’s not too prominent. Smooth, creamy, and delicious!

There were moments when this beer had potential but overall this proved somewhat difficult to enjoy about the Imperial Stouts of the world. There is a big grape dimension, more like grape kool-aid, and amid the regular Impy flavors there was a kind of sweetness + hoppiness that really sickened me after a bit. It never became *difficult* to drink but it lost its enjoyment, too. I thought the alcohol seemed restrained for the abv.

Objectively speaking: Competent full-bodied imperial stout.
I like: Staying focused on balance rather than extremes. Not very adventurous, but effective at delivering the usual chocolate, coffee, earthy and dark fruit flavours. Limited hop influence.
I dislike: Quickly fading carbonation. A bit too bready in its cerealic nature.

Bottle; poured a black color with only a small hint of a head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt and oats. Some caramel and nutty notes. Soft on the palate, not much carbonation. Slightly sweet chocolate and oats are the most pronounced flavors. Some caramel and milkiness. Notable alcohol presence. Hops were barely present. Pretty good and straightforward, but wasn’t exceptional for me.

Bottle... SMAACMSM O-Town Throwdown, Part Sept... This beer rocks!... Pours clear and black with a small, creamy, fat-bubbled, beige head. Excellent retention. Chocolaty, nutty aroma. Full-bodied and ultra-velvety with weak carbonation. Burnt bitterness engulfs medium to heavy chocolate sweetness. Bittersweet, mocha finish. Kudos to mgumby10 for the opportunity to try this beauty!

Bomber. Poured clear, deep brown with a nice initial cap of yellowy-beige head.. receded quickly. The aroma picked up heavily-roasted black malts including blackstrap molasses and licorice (lactic-ish notes sweetened up the licorice a bit).. there were also some nasal hair-burning alcohol heat that crept in at the end. The flavor picked up a lot more baker’s chocolate than the nose indicated that paired with alcohol-laden roasted molasses and soy.. sweeter, yet slightly sour lactic notes around the edges with a light cocoa bitterness .. oat-sweetened roasted black malts on the warm finish. Heavier-bodied with a syrupy feel on the palate.. alcohol heat paired with chocolate and coffee bitterness to form some rough spots on the tongue.. this had some solid components, but it ended up as an average (or slightly below) imperial stout.
