Commercial Description:
Night Tripper is an Imperial Stout brewed for a Fat Tuesday release. Dark, mysterious and poetic, Night Tripper's abundance of roasted malts, combined with flaked barley create a rich, roasty beer with deeply intense and lush flavors. Night Tripper's layered, nuanced tones invite intrigue and reward a curious palate.

This beer is terrible - gives dark beer a bad name. No head (ever), bad blend of flavor (too much licorice of course). lousy mouthfeel. Considering asking for my money back.

Black with tan head. Roast, sweet malt, and chocolate aroma. Licorice, sweet caramel malt, roast, and alcohol notes. Fairly balanced with mild bitter finish.

Bottle: Courtesy of renhed...onyx black pour with no head. Roasted and chocolate malts dominate with additional notes of black cherries and a bit of toffee. This is very deceiving body-wise, I wasn’t expecting this to be as silky as it is. This has a malt-infused spinal column with notes of chocolate and dark fruits.

Very dark brown with a medium brown head that laces. Aroma of roasted malts, mild smoke, molasses and a touch of alcohol. Sweet taste of roasted malts, mild coffee, brown sugar and light chocolate and alcohol. Thick, smooth and strong – this an excellent imperial stout.

Bomber. The body is perfectly black with a light orangeish tan head. The aroma is rich coffee and anise. There is also some sweet milk chocolate. The mouthfeel is very full and chewy. The taste is anise with some light vineous notes. There is also some baking chocolate that comes out as you drink. The finish is a little ashy with some woody notes coming through. After you drink more, you get some alcohol burn, but this is not too hot. Nicely made.

The commercial description would be spot on if the word chocolate was included. Rich is a great description. Dark with a thin head.

22oz bottle. Pours dark brown - black. Aroma of coffee and alcohol. Night Tripper is an Imperial Stout brewed for a Fat Tuesday release... This is a "Lent" beer? Huh? Rich malts. Nice hop balance.

Bottle Packed back from one of my beer mules. Strait from New Holland. Pours out almost pitch black a little brown. topped with a tan head. A nice sweet aroma of roast and chocolate. Tast more of the sweetness and roast malt. I also picke up some moleasses. pretty good.
