Commercial Description:
Night Tripper is an Imperial Stout brewed for a Fat Tuesday release. Dark, mysterious and poetic, Night Tripper's abundance of roasted malts, combined with flaked barley create a rich, roasty beer with deeply intense and lush flavors. Night Tripper's layered, nuanced tones invite intrigue and reward a curious palate.

Sampled draft on tap at the brewpub (Holland, MI). Pours a inky midnight black pour with moderate tannish head that laces well. Aromas are nice coffee and roasted malt mixture, light chocolate on the palate too. Initial is firmly bodied, good roast and coffee feel with light chocolate also on the palate. Light bitterness or roast on the backend balances well, a good body, no cloying sweetness, with some faint licorice and good flavor. Leaves a bit of a creamy and roast aftertaste. This is a very nice brew. Cheers!

I was a bit worried that this beer would not live up to the legacy of Dragon’s Milk, but I was wrong. Pours a mean looking dark brown/black with a tan head. Nose is coffee, dark chocolate, vinuous dark fruit, spice, and some booze. Flavor is very similar with the dark chocolate coming out as the victor in the flavor contest. Enjoyable medium-full bodied imperial stout.

22oz bottle. Pour a deep brown, almost black with a tan head. Nose is cedar, roasted coffee and alot of caramel and chocolate. Some like whisky in the nose. Full body, very thick mouthfeel. Very similar to Cigar City 110k but not as intense. Has spice cedary hops up front with a chocolatey roasted malt middle. Finishes with a hit of vanilla and espresso. Complex and great.

Bomber from Parti-Pak Liquors (Indianapolis, IN). Pours a dark muddy brown to black with thin tan head. Aroma is roasted coffee, toffee, caramel, chocolate, hints of vanillla, wood, smoke and whisky. Flavor is sweet and malty with notes of dark chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, rum-soaked raisins, hints of caramel and coconut. Generally medium to full body with a pleasing boozy malty finish.

(bottle) Pours thick and black with a thin and disappearing chocolate milk-colored head. Aroma is darked roasted and medium sweet with chocolate, coffee, some fruit, and alcohol. Thick and chewy body with some carbonation. Flavor is sweet and raisiny. The alcohol is strong but not too heavy. Roasted caramel/coffee dominate, but also some dark-chocolate bitterness. A good stout, as far as I like them.
