| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 16, 2009 Bottle that I bought during DLD weekend 2008. Pours black with just a slight mocha head. Aroma of old dark chocolate, light creamy coffee, cocoa powder, light smoke, booze and slight roast. Taste is cocoa powder, dark chocolate, slight coffee, huge roasty bitterness, slight earthy hops, a bit of smoke and booze. Slightly thin for an RIS but enjoyable. Pretty solid but a bit too much on the fake chocolate flavor side. patrick767 (2051), fort wayne, Indiana, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 15, 2009 bottle - Pours black with a thin tan head. The aroma is dark roast malt with plenty of coffee accents. The flavor is big roast chocolate malt with some coffee flavor and a good balance provided by ample hops. The malts dominate this full bodied brew though. Very good. randolphjj (103), Raymore, Missouri, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | May 8, 2009 Gorgeous black color with a quickly disappearing head. Nose lets you know it’s a stout with chocolate. Lots of roasted chocolate malt on the first taste - but goes down really well. and at almost 11%, that could sneak up on you. greco (41), Zeeland, Michigan, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | May 6, 2009 I’ve had this in their brew pub as well as in a 22 oz. Both were excellent. Has a nice semi-sweet aroma. Very dark and thick beer pours with a rich creamy head with excellent head retention.
Complex beer full of flavor witha a nice mouthfeel for an Imperial. The high alcohol blends nicely on tap but sometimes can overwhelm out of the bottle.

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | May 2, 2009 22 oz bottle. Heard good things, decided to give it a shot, as I love Imperial Stouts. Pours a dark black with chocolate-like colors on the corners (when the light catches it), with a tiny tan head that dissipates quickly. Smells of roastedness, coffee, some dark chocolate, malt, oak or wood, a little bourbon, and maybe a hint of vanilla. Very deep smell to it. Tastes of roasted coffee, a bit of malt, some hints of chocolate, and a light alcohol bite. Goes down pretty smooth, and has a full mouth feel. Overall this is very enjoyable, and I hope to have this again soon. phishpond417 (1953), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 10/20 | Apr 27, 2009 Sampled on 4/20/2009 at the Malt House. Part of the 4/20 special. Poured a dark brownish bronzeish colour scheme with a full tan hand head. Aroma is on the nose again and again strong and long lingering with an extremely palatable finish rounding off nicely for this long winded and totally desirable brew. Cheers to the years spent drinking and thinking of drinking good respectable beer in the company of your respectful peers. jezmez68 (334), Chesterton, Indiana, USA

Tons of dark fruit flavor, burning alcohol at the back. Stains the plastic cup I had it in. Excellent, all ’round.
