Commercial Description:
Night Tripper is an Imperial Stout brewed for a Fat Tuesday release. Dark, mysterious and poetic, Night Tripper's abundance of roasted malts, combined with flaked barley create a rich, roasty beer with deeply intense and lush flavors. Clear dark red brown color with a small, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, beige head. Aroma is heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, dusty coffee, moderate alcoholc. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light heavy bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is moderate alcoholic. [20090922]

Bottle. I like the joker. Not much of a head on the pour, but the aroma is killer -- rich and promising a full-flavored beer. It doesn’t disappoint -- solidly assembled cacophony of rich roasty flavors here, dark fruit, and chocolate mousse. Delish! (#3752, 11/23/2009)

bottle, pours black with a thin to medium dark tan head. Strong roasty coffee and chocolate ice cream aromas. Nice mouthfeel, some oats seem to be adding a nice creamyness and the low carbonation helps as well. Lots of chocolate again, very sweet but not overly, some vanilla bean and a little expresso. Very enjoyable, and a complete suprise!

bomber from greens in atlanta. black pour with a sturdy looking tan head that actually isn’t -- disappears quick like, leaving a ring and some soapy lacing. roasted malt and chocolate aroma with dark fruits and a musty vibe to it. first thing noticed in the taste is the alcohol -- not necessarily in an unpleasant way, but front and center for sure. figs, toasted brown sugar and cherry tastes work through to an astringent bitter finish. kinda similar to storm king, but not quite as balanced. overall, good sipper - warms you right up.

22 oz bottle from Princeton’s. Dark brown pour, not much head. Aroma is dark fruit/raisin. Sweet fruity flavor. Thick, chewy mouthfeel with a chocolate/coffee finish.

11th July 2008. No too thick for an Impy Stout. Smooth palate. Mellow coffee that is not bitter. Rich malt that is a little creamy. Also a rich fruitiness. Plumbs and Port. A real tasty treat.

Darn near perfect. Not too alcoholic for a beer of its ABV. Very complex, smooth flavor. Absolutely delicious!

Bottle. Black pour with a short, dense, brown head. Aroma is rife with licorice, roasted malt, coffee, molasses and vanilla. Taste is strong molasses, lighter licorice, roasted malts, coffee, dark chocolate, alcohol, and dark fruit. Body is thick and rich with a dense, creamy carbonation. Ends with more roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee, molasses, vanilla, licorice, and alcohol. Very rich but still very tasty!
