bigtaster (116), Grand Rapids, USA Apr 26, 2008 Updated: May 3, 2008 Pours thick, black, tan head. String malty aroma. Flavors of dark chocolate, coffee, charcoal, a little soy. Not a bad stout but lacks complexity with overwhelming taste of charcoal that diminishes the other flavors. Very warming a little alcohol taste.
Darkover (1212), Columbus, Ohio, USA Sep 30, 2008 Very dark brown with a small brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, dark fruits and some alcohol. Flavor of sweet roasted malts, dark chocolate, dark fruits and liqour. drfabulous (737), Columbia, Missouri, USA Sep 30, 2008 It’s been sitting in my basement longer than I thought it would. The forgotten beer. A cool night. Time to finally open it. Pours without any head (reminds me of Expedition). But there is lots of coffee and roasty taste here. Very nice overall. Balanced. Rich. I get that burnt sugar taste someone else here notes. Nice. Theis (2208), Frederiksberg, Denmark Sep 30, 2008 Bottle at home - thanks to Bager. Black - brown head. High burned, berries, fruity, oily, chocolate, coffee, nice medium hoppy, smooth hoppy. Lovely. marcus (1051), Sacramento, California, USA Sep 21, 2008 This dark brown ale poured with a thin tan head- just a few bubbles, and a very agreeable sweet aroma. There is an intense earthy roasted malt flavor. Old_Mr_Crow (1038), Seattle, Washington, USA Sep 21, 2008 Bottle courtesy of BeerExchange.
Dark and thick with a modest and pretty tan head. A seriously burly impy stout. Lovely roasty flavor, caramel drizzled over dark chocolate cake, fennel, thai coffee, smooth creamy mouthfeel. Bloody nice beer.
