Commercial Description:
Night Tripper is an Imperial Stout brewed for a Fat Tuesday release. Dark, mysterious and poetic, Night Tripper's abundance of roasted malts, combined with flaked barley create a rich, roasty beer with deeply intense and lush flavors. Night Tripper's layered, nuanced tones invite intrigue and reward a curious palate.

Bottle. Very small, very bubbly light brown head that mostly lasted, opaque, virtually no lacing, and a black hue with a bit of a bronze tint. Nose was malty, roasty, chocolate, hint of smoke, some raisins, and some coffee. Flavor was malt, roasty, some vanilla, smokey, lightly bitter, and some chocolate. Mouthfeel was smooth and a bit oily.Very quaffable brew, easy to drink as this is a very smooth beer, very tasty, nicely done by the folks at New Holland. Worthy of a try and I would drink this beer again.

Pour was very nice black with hints of dark ruby if the light hit it right. Creamy tan head that continued to build after the pouring was finished. Good lacing as the drink went down. Aroma was roasted malts, chocolate and alcohol, seemed a bit weak though. Flavor was the same with chocolate and mocha dominating the roasted malts, the alcohol was hard to find until the finish. Thick and smooth with a burnt bitter coffee finish with notes of alcohol on it. The thickness hangs around but the bitterness leaves.

Bottle: Very good Imp. stout. Pours dark as night with little head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, roasted malts and alcohol. Flavor of same, although the alcohol is hidden well.

Opaque black pour with chocolate covered head. Aroma is chocolate, dark fruit. Flavor is of dark chocolate, burnt toast, dried and dark fruits and alcohol. It’s pretty roasty, with an almost herbal finish. Nice big mouthfeel. Overall, this is a great beer, if you can find it, try it.

Solid black pour with absolutely no head. Aroma is full of chocolate and malt and a hint of coffee. Thick consistency that is not unpleasant. Chocolate carries into the first sip with hints off coffee and roasted nuts that is balanced nicely with a slightly burnt, bitter flavor throughout. Finish is pleasantly bitter with building bnose. Nuttiness lingers on the palate. This is a good one, but it’s a little heavy and is best shared.

Bottle (22oz). Shared with blankboy and garthicus. Poured nearly opaque black with a lasting large frothy pancake batter dark tan head. Solid oily roast aroma, moderate alcohol, syrupy (in a good way), with a hint of sour cherry and coffee. The taste follows, deeper roast, nut oil slickness, building lactic sourness and a long acidic coffee ground/alcohol finish. Average body only, solidly acidic, nice and slick and tingly on the tongue - this one has its own character, dry, oily and funky all at once in the linger - pretty nice, not overly boozy.
