It was somewhere between the uber-malty barley wines and the hoppy ones. I didn’t notice much alcohol but I was drunk. Really creamy in texture and quite rich in flavor. sersdf (1000), chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 8, 2006 i acutally thought this was really good. lots of caramel/toffee malts in the aroma. a friend found some hops there, but i didn’t really pick that up. flavor profile wasn’t challenging but iit definintely had stuff going on. very obviously malty, extermely sweet, a good amount of caramel cream. a friend called it super-british and i can agree with that insofar as certain components did bring the fuller’s vintages to mind. almost no alcohol in the flavor at all, even while it warmed up. i thought this was both surprisingly and absolutely very good. shadey (1501), Rochester, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 18, 2006 Pour is bright mellon with a thin ring of creamy bubbles. I belive my first wheatwine. Tangy aroma. Almost soured grain. Flavor is a bit sour with a wheaty harsh finish. Tangy again. wintersdying (49), Louisville, Kentucky, USA

purchased while in Michigan over the ’05 holidays...
pours orangish amber with slight white head. hints of grass and moss in the aroma.
flavor screams very tart apple cider. notes of sweetness come through, i’m lead to think caramel typically... but the tartness makes me think of citrus. honestly... this doesn’t really seem like a wheatwine. my first taste i literally said : ’Rodenbach’. it tastes a lot like a flemish sour. good beer, not a daily drinker, but an interesting one to pull out and let some beer nerds try. wheninhell (486), louisville, Kentucky, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 4, 2006 orange with a white head that disappears quickly. very funky aroma. sweet apple cider mixed with some barnyard funk. flavor dominated by apple tartness with a slight hint of caramel sweetness from the wheat and malt. finish dry and tart. medium bodied. seems light for the style. i enjoyed this brew but it just wasnt as good as some of the other wheat wines i have had. enjoyable but one dimensional. stoutlvr (52), Lansing, Michigan, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 5/5 | 13/20 | May 3, 2006 My rating may very well do this beer no justice at all, as I am not an avid barley wine drinker. But it did taste good to me. jonwayne4883 (401), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA
