Aroma of apples and roses with a touch of cinnamon. Not a strong aroma but strong enough to enjoy. Flavor starts very rich, sweet, malty and refined then quickly turns sour and watery. Probably the strangest and most conspicuously transformation my buds have witnessed. In this dichotomy of flavor is raspberry, rye, rich malt and twangy hops. The alcohol lies dormant to the procession such that I find it hard to believe the 10% claimed. Overall, not really wild about this one, though quite interesting. I bought a single and don’t suggest anyone buy the sixer until you have sampled some. The wheat makes it interesting, but leads to an annoying twang. Wrath (362), Valparaiso, Indiana, USA

Malt is well balanced and alcohol is well hidden. Finishes smooth and sweet. Decent. LilKem (1210), Marietta, Ohio, USA

Very handsome in the glass, a reddish-golden color with a pale halo for a head, this has a sweet-sour aroma of cherries and oranges with a dusting of herbal hop bitterness. The flavor is a sweet maltiness turned tart by the wheat, alcohol, and sweet, juicy fruits. The finish is sticky sweet and alcoholic, rounding out this pleasant, warming beverage.

Another filtered creation from these guys. . .what’s up with the filtration on these high gravity beers. That’s garbage, IMHO. Amber-auburn chestnut color with light garnet tinges and a creamy, beige colored head with low retention. Smells fruity and lightly sour from the wheat. Lightly acidic, wheaty palate never really gains any substance. Much more flavor than the the 2003 Dragon’s Milk, but not any particularly exciting flavors. Alcohol, cherries, bitter roast and breadiness. Has aged without a problem, so that’s encouraging, but it probably didnt change much due to the filtration/pasteurisation. Pretty boring, malty/sugary/bittersweet wheat mess towards the end, body is medium and has lots of thinning on the end. Sharp/acidic notes, light vinousness. Off to the drain you go. . . Pours turbid copper with medium off-white head and some floaties. Aroma of malt, cereal, wheat, some fruit, cognac, scotch....an overall barleywinish aroma. Tastes malty, with fruitiness, some hops, and more cognac/cabernet.scotch. Dense finish, with dryness abounding. Very complex. Very good.
