Bockyhorsey (2487), Mesa, Arizona, USA Nov 1, 2009 Bottle courtesy of Mother in Law. Good malt sweetness on the nose. Copper body with off white head. Good sweet malt mixed with some citrusy flavor and crisp.Refreshing on the palate. One of the bettter amber Ale’s I’ve had in awhile. flatmatt (221), Northville, Michigan, USA Oct 29, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours amber with a white head. Sweet caramel aroma with citrus. Flavor is weak and grainy with toasted malts. Aroma is decent, but the flavor’s off for me. theisti (1638), Leawood, Kansas, USA Sep 28, 2009 12 oz bottle purchased as part of a beers of summer 10 pack at World
Market. Pour is hazed orange copper with a one inch off white head.
Aroma of softly sweet caramel maltiness, with a nice almond nutiness
behind that. Nice warming nose. As the beer warmed to room temp, there
was some soggy cardboard. Taste is the caramel malt with a grassy
mineral grassiness behind that. The almond is present, nicely drying
out the finish. Palate has a medium mouth feel with a high level of
carbonation. The finish has a touch of cardboard, which detracts a
bit. Overall, an easy drinking amber that started pretty nice and
flattened out a bunch as it warmed. I am guessing this was not a
terribly fresh bottle. topherh (878), Kearney, Missouri, USA Sep 15, 2009 Bottle. Pours coppery amber with a thin white head. Aroma is caramel, bicuity malt, and toast.
