The tight stiff mostly lasting creamy white head leaves lovely webby lace. This brew has really decent depth. Honestly I wasn’t expecting much, but it delivers big in the flavor department. Amber ale has to be the most wide open style IMO; definitely like a box of chocolates. Starts well balanced with light acidity, the finish is bold and toasty and hangs around long after the last swallow. The full body is creamy and soft to lively. The finish feels dry. Thanks to my roomate Scott for looking out for me with such a great hookup.

The aroma was sour and tangy vegetal malts. The flavor was tangy, sour and faintly sweet malts with a light fruity hop undertone and a longish vegetal finish. Reminded me more a bock. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jan 22, 2008 The aroma was lightly spicy when first poured with a creamy vanilla note. The aroma was earthy and a slight bit tart with caramel and a sweetness in the background. The beer poured into the glass crystal clear golden amber with a white head that lasted but a second. The flavor was sweet on the palate at first, but immediately a moderate level of spicy hop bittering kicked in. The hop flavor was light and spicy and the flavor was earthy with a bit of alcohol, surprising for a 5% beer. The finish was dry with a lasting prickly spice into the aftertaste. The body was medium with a very low level of carbonation. An ok beer, nutting special. 12 ounce bottle. jeffwilliams11 (310), hooterville, Michigan, USA

The aroma is subdued, a bit earthy, some light citrusy hops, . The flavor is mild sour malt, crisp slightly bitter earthy hops, some light lemongrass, pretty balanced and easy to put back. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 13, 2008 Pours deep copper color with small head. Sweet malt and light hop scent. Taste is malty sweet with a peppery spice leaving a dry finish. A pretty good beer but reminds me more of lager. Better drinking from bottle rather than in a glass. edden (927), cow- lumbus, Ohio, USA

Hoppy flavor with hints of dish soap. This is not a bad beer, but it is not true to style. This beer is more like a pale ale or IPA.
