A very nice beer indeed. Pours an excellent copper color under a thin but persistent head. There’s a smell of malt and hops in harmony, that also brings up a bit of an alcohol smell! The hops are nicely prominent for an English (Fuggles) hop bill. But it’s nice to have a hoppy beer that’s not Centennial and Cascade for a change. Just a nice bitter match to a toasty malt that’s what an amber ale ought to be. mrkimchee (1414), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | May 19, 2005 Transparent amber in color with an oily and side-hugging head. Aroma is cleansing lemons, New Holland’s invariable brewer’s yeast and urine. Flavor is sweet caramel, smooth beech wood, light tobacco leaves and hazelnut. More malt than expected with a slightly bittering backdoor hop appeal. Some nutty caramel bitterness in the finish. This puppy’s all over the place, but hey, it’s an amber. thedm (3836), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 18, 2005 This bottled brew poured a small sized head of off-white colored fine to large sized mostly lasting bubbles that left behind a softly carbonated slightly hazy light brown colored body and a good lacing. The aroma was malty and reminiscent of an Irish red ale. The mouth feel was tingly initially with a nice caramel malt aftertaste and a brown malt caramel malt bready hoppy flavor. atpayne (615), Zionsville, Indiana, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 17, 2005 Nice looking pale copper with active carbonatino and creamy white head. Aroma is a very nice full malt. Nutty and bready. A slight sourness and sweet mild, roasted malt. Cleen sour flavor and a nutty flavor and feel. Seems pretty clean and organized. A little bit of sweet hop bitterness round our a full flavor and very full finish.
