Commercial Description:
Sundog is an ale whose amber color is as deep as the copper glow of a Lake Michigan sunset. Its Biscuit malt and Fuggle hops give it a toasty character and a subtle, malty sweetness. We believe Sundog is the deepest, richest amber you'll find anywhere.

12 oz bottle pour. Light amber in color. Yeasty bread-like aroma. Light roasted malt taste with hints of nuttiness. Nice all-around beer.

12oz. Bottle:Faint aroma. Smells of biscuit, caramel, and sourdough. Poured amber in color with a small, creamy, off-white head that diminished but lasted throughout. Hazy. Sparkling. Full of tiny particles. Flavor is light to medium sweet. Tastes of caramel, malts, biscuit, toasting, and a hint of hop-resin. Medium body. Thin, watery texture. Soft to average carbonation. Biscuity, toasted malt finish is a bit chalky. Overall, a sub-par Amber.

Not that amber looking…more of a dark golden hue. No head what so ever. Crisp with back notes of caramel. Also some lager like grassy notes on the back end. Smooth and creamy actually turns into dry and crisp by the time I swallow. It’s ok. I like the Red Tulip Amber much more.

33 cl bottle, Sault Ste Marie, MI. Amber colour, faint malt aroma with some forward hops. Almost creamy smooth on the first sip with a nice hop bite, and crisp finish. Very nice.

I was shopping and found this while shopping for some other brand. I was impressed. It compares favorably to more well known micro beers.

Bottle. Dark amber pour. Small white head. Nose is hoppy but sweet. Some fruit notes, hops, sweet malts, and spicy notes. The taste is made up of more spicy and earthy hops, light citrus, dried fruit, sweet malts, and light caramel. Body is medium with moderate carbonation. Chewy in spots. Ends with more spicy and earthy hops, soft citrus, fruits, caramel, and some nuttiness.

A bright and yeasty aroma with hints of pith, clove, and rye. A gorgeous burnt-orange color with a frothy head (albeit one that takes a long time to settle!). Actual beer is surprisingly refreshing with vibrant and long-lasting citrus and hops notes. Would do nicely with a grilled bratwurst and grill fries on a hot summer afternoon.
