Commercial Description:
This stout is sheer beer poetry. Let it warm to about 45 F and pour it into a glass to fully experience its rich, roasty flavors and hints of coffee and chocolate. One glass and you'll agree: The Poet is truly a rich, creamy brew of epic proportions.

Bottle. Roasty malt aroma. Black body, creamy light brown head. Very roasty flavor, mostly coffee, with some bitter chocolate, a touch of sweetness. Finish is light and nicely bitter. Very pleasant.

A creamy tan head set atop an opaque, black brew. Rich and smooth. The malt flavors dominatedwith just a hint of balancing hops. It was lighter than I expected from a stout. It went down easily. Not much of an aftertaste.

12 ounce bottle from Whole Foods Market in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a dark brown color with a medium tan head. Very nutty aroma with some chocolate and oatmeal notes as well. Taste is nutty with roasted malts and some vegetal notes. Medium bodied.

Not a whole lot to it. A bit dry, but a smooth pour/light body. Easy drinking

Bottle. Black pour with a small dense tan head. Nose is roasted malts, dark chocolate, burnt oatmeal and coffee. Taste is bittersweet chocolate, burnt oatmeal, light dark fruit, and coffee. Tasty! Body is medium and has a strong carbonation. Lingering bitter notes. Ends with more strong roasted malts, coffee, bittersweet chocolate and dark chocolate covered fruit.

Bottle at home ... Big thanks to Beer Bill for this ... black ... think bubbly tan head ... light sweet roast malts with a little chocolate ... bit thin in palate .... dark berries and cherries ... little creamy ... little oatmeal ... little coffee ... tasty but just lacking a bit in body.

Dark, rich, creamy. Bittersweet with a strong lingering finish. Strong taste, beautiful dark blackness with an almost purple hue on the minimal head.
