Commercial Description:
This stout is sheer beer poetry. Let it warm to about 45 F and pour it into a glass to fully experience its rich, roasty flavors and hints of coffee and chocolate. One glass and you'll agree: The Poet is truly a rich, creamy brew of epic proportions.

This stout poured a deep black colour with a short lived, tan coloured head. Scents include coffee, roasted malts, caramel and cocoa. First taste was smooth and roasty with flavours of coffee and roasted malt. Other flavours include caramel, cocoa and nuts. Finish is roasted and palate is slightly bitter coffee/caramel.

Bottle (not poured in a glass.) Since I drank mine from the bottle, I couldn’t get much of it’s nose to come out, so I’ll rate it a 6 as that seems to be the average. Same for the appearance. The flavor is nuts, toffee, maybe a little raisin hiding in the back and dark chocolate on the finish. I loved this beer, but it may have been a bit weak for what it is.

Pours dark with a brownish hue and a medium brown head. Has a nice roasted malt aroma with a rich and silky chocolate taste. Kind of mild for an oatmeal stout but sometimes that’s a good thing.

smells like nuts, not very strong, same nutty watery taste, watery even for a sweet stout

Pours near black with a nice cream colored head. Aroma is roasted malts. Taste is nice and of roasted malts, light in body for a stout, but with a nice slight bitterness from the oatmeal. Another very easy to drink beer.

Bottle: Poured a clear black color ale with an average size foamy head with average retention but good lacing. Aroma consists of medium sweet chocolate with some light coffee notes. Taste is also dominated by light roasted malt notes with some medium sweet chocolates notes offset by some dry coffee. Full body with some medium carbonation. Very well done for the style and easily drinkable.

Another beer I received in a trade with mmm///beer, so again, thanks. A very easy to enjoy beer with enough depth of flavor to enjoy as the beer’s temp changes. It starts out chocolatey then switches to a subtle roasty character, and then it all gets wrapped up in a nice dark fruit combo near the end. I think the chocolate notes were the components I enjoyed the most. Great looking beer in the glass too. A nice beer for sure.
