Commercial Description:
This stout is sheer beer poetry. Let it warm to about 45 F and pour it into a glass to fully experience its rich, roasty flavors and hints of coffee and chocolate. One glass and you'll agree: The Poet is truly a rich, creamy brew of epic proportions.

12 oz. bottle courtesy of Naka. Pours black with slight amber hues rimming the edges of the glass. Very little head, small and tan but produces decent lacing. Nose is roasty with a caramel sweetness and dark fruits, raisins and cherries. Tastes rather caramely with some roasted malts and bitter. A bit watery, would say moderately thick mouth feel. S\ome fruity notes, raisin mainly, mild cherry. Smooth and silky mouth feel, just a bit more thin that I thought it would be. Pretty decent, but a bit too much astringent/bitter taste that taskes away from the brew. Solid.

This beer pours a dark mocha coffe colour, and it looks and smells like coffe too. Its breakfast in a bottle! fluffy light brown head with roasted nuts and bark in the aroma.

Pours pitch black; heavy lacing; light brown head has lots of staying power. Aroma mostly roast and chocolate; some coffee. Flavor similar to aroma with light to moderate bitterness and largely roast through the finish. Silky mouthfeel but just a touch thin. Overall, a solid outmeal stout, but somewhat forgettable.

Sweet chocolate and roasted coffee notes in the aroma. Very dark brown, almost black in color. Flavor was sweet and heavy on the chocolate and caramel. Nice bitter coffee and dark chocolate taste in the finish kept it from being too sweet. Medium-full bodied and quite rich. A good stout all around, thankfully not too sweet.

Bottled. Poured deeper garnety-brown with a short-lived cap of beige head. The aroma picked up toasted darker fruits and sweeter chocolates with a milky air to it.. very nice charred tar and coffee on the back. The flavor held sweeter chocolate, oatmeal, and lactose sweetness at the core with light herbal and coffee bitterness around.. sweet overall, and quite engaging. Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation.. flowed well across the palate and left a very nice sweet, roasty impression on the finish. Good stuff!

Subtle aroma of mostly coffee and heavily roasted malt. Poured dark black with thin off-white head. Flavor was smooth with subtle accents of coffee and chocolate. Palate had a bite in the middle but finished smooth. Overall a great beer.

Aroma of coffee, chocolate, molasses and roasted malt. Deep brown black hue with a mostly diminishing tan head. Flavor of chocolate and coffee. Smooth and rich, full bodied. Fantastic. Simple but rich in flavor. ABV is way too low though.
