May 24, 2008 Bottled. Poured deeper garnety-brown with a short-lived cap of beige head. The aroma picked up toasted darker fruits and sweeter chocolates with a milky air to it.. very nice charred tar and coffee on the back. The flavor held sweeter chocolate, oatmeal, and lactose sweetness at the core with light herbal and coffee bitterness around.. sweet overall, and quite engaging. Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation.. flowed well across the palate and left a very nice sweet, roasty impression on the finish. Good stuff!

May 21, 2008 Subtle aroma of mostly coffee and heavily roasted malt. Poured dark black with thin off-white head. Flavor was smooth with subtle accents of coffee and chocolate. Palate had a bite in the middle but finished smooth. Overall a great beer.

May 19, 2008 Aroma of coffee, chocolate, molasses and roasted malt. Deep brown black hue with a mostly diminishing tan head. Flavor of chocolate and coffee. Smooth and rich, full bodied. Fantastic. Simple but rich in flavor. ABV is way too low though.

May 18, 2008 Sampled at the Savor DC event. Pours a watery, opaque black with a sweet aroma of nuts and toasted grain. Flavor has coffee, nuts, and sweet, chewy malts. Very drinkable.

May 14, 2008 12oz Bottle: Pours dark brown w/ a minimal tan head. Very nice aroma, light coffee, roasted malt & chocolate. Flavor is rich & roasty w/ a hint of creaminess. Nice full-bodied stout w/ just enough bitterness to balance things out. Good stuff.

Dark brown with a thin bubbly light tan head and some lined lacing. Smell is sweet malt and some raisins. Taste is malt and dry pecans. Palate is smooth and fairly thick. Drinkable. No huge bold flavor or nose but it has a hint of burned pecans in the finish and aftertaste and becomes more present as it warms.

May 1, 2008 Bottle pours black with a 1 inch off white head that clings to the glass - perfect. The aroma is bitter chocolate and roasted coffee; perhaps some brown sugar or molases. The flavor is milk chocolate, oatmeal, some milk (2%), and weak coffee. The palate is thin to medium with some carbonation. Overall, not my favorite, but still a decent beer.

Apr 28, 2008 bottle. blackpour with thick forthy tan head. sweet aroma, mollasses, oats, sour malts, cinammon, floral. body is a bit thin. although sugars are not intense the flavor is a bit harsh. coffee, bitter, mild chocolate and oats through finish.
